This is kind of a mute point in my case, but was wondering about the implications. All of my equipment has to go against a 12' wall and no matter what I do, the sub will be relatively close to either the front right or left speaker. How will this affect the overall sound?

Always integrate the sub with the front speakers at either the inside of both fronts or at the side of one front.

I always get the best bass when it's on the inside between both front speakers.

Placing the sub where you sit is usually bad as you will hear where the bass is located.

You want the bass to intregrate with the front speakers and back room placement is always bad.

Mod: This thread belongs in the subwoofer section.

I have to disagree that backroom placement is always bad. I have my a5-350 placed behind my couch in a back corner and I like it better than when I had it along the front wall. If you choose a low crossover, localization should not be a problem. I would do the crawling for bass method if I were you. Just my .02

Thanks for all the input, all.

Likvid: Sorry about the thread problem. I'm new and haven't figured out all the threads yet.
