I have two Sony KD-34XBR960's, one in the living room and one in the back room. My question is, if I have my cable company (Cox) come and install a cablecard in the living room TV, will I be able to use it also in the back room TV by taking out the cablecard from the living room TV and inserting it in the back room TV? I use the living room most of the time and both TV's have cable running into it, no set top boxes just straight plug into the back. I sometimes like to lounge in the back room though.

Or is the cablecard only going to work with that specific TV even though they are the same models?

It won't work with the other TV. The cable company will link that card to that specific tv, not a model.

Thanks ogbuehi. I may just get two cablecards then since the fee for two is still less than for a digital set top box.

Smart move. I wish cablecards had taken off. It was cheaper and easier to deal with than the ugly cable boxes they have these days.
