This is probably a silly question, but I'm looking for a media player that will allow continuous playback of a video file w/out interruption for up to 12 hours at a time. Will the TViX 4100SH or 6500A do this? If not, do you have any suggestions for a product that will?

I really need a response guys. Does the TViX support looped playback?

Don't know about the looped playback, but with AVI files... it will auto start the next. If the material you'd like to loop isn't super short, you could just copy/rename the file and put a bunch of them in the folder... (Info1.avi, Info2.avi, Info3.avi.....)

Obviously a workaround only.

Hrm.... does it play back reference files then? Otherwise I don't think that will work. 12+ hours of video footage takes up too much hard drive space. Thanks for the help :)

What's too much HD space...? 500G is $100 w/o looking for a bargain... that's about 40Gigs per hour... Can't see space as the issue (time spent copying/renaming a bunch of files maybe... especially if content will change often)

Maybe someone who knows DVD authoring knows how to force a loop...could do it that way...

Anyway, now over my head... good luck.

There is a REPEAT button on the TViX remote. Additionally a short while back when I hit INFO on a file that I was playing I had noticed that there was a line in the information that stated

Repeat : Off

That would lead me to believe that it can do exactly what you are asking about. But I personally have never tried to do it myself with a single file like that.

Also, ours is a 6500a running the latest beta FW (1.2.46 I believe)

HTH :)

The Tvix players also has an Autoplay mode that starts playing a folder immideately at power on. Google it to see more how it exactly works. I guess it's in the manual.
