I've tried 18883382009 all day, but it says no one is available.
Is this possible with a 24 hotline? Only the US government could foul that up...

Thanks, but I was trying to check the status of my coupons. They were mailed out awhile back (according to the website), but I still HAVE NOT received them in the mail.
Because of this, I tried calling the 24 hour hotline. Unfortunately, no one has been there to answer the phones for TWO days now.

I was wondering if anyone had any luck getting through at a certain time of day.

I wouldn't be surprised if they just shut the whole thing down and the rest of the funds allocated will just be put in the Congressional pork barrel.

How are those without internet access supposed to get their coupons if the phone number that they have to order them from does not answer?

I tried to call them when there was weirdness about my application on the online status page. Mine had been "approved" for a month or more, then suddenly it changed to "application reviewed, found to be invalid". That's when I tried to reach a human there, without luck, for several days running. I checked the online status again, and it had changed to "mailed". Go figure.

FWIW, it took about 9 days after it said mine were mailed for them to show up vs. 3-4 days for most first-class mail from the West Coast (I'm on the East Coast). So, they really are significantly slower than first-class to get cross-country from Oregon.

If it has been more than two weeks since yours showed as "mailed", then I'd get concerned. But less than that, I'd just say hang in there. If what I've read is accurate, if they had been lost by the USPS, the folks at the coupon program would only offer condolences, not help in replacing them.

Let us know if you get them - and how long it actually took.

got this in our email yesterday, they should arrive just in time to expire

Mailing delays of a month or more have been reported. Please allow 2-3 more weeks for your coupons to arrive. For more information regarding coupon mailing dates please visit www.DTV2009.gov/CheckStatus.aspx.

The envelopes bear a Portland Oregon return address as that is the program contracter location. From what I understand this program is being administered by IBM.

The mailing indicia at the envelope's upper right corner has this information:

PRESORTED
STANDARD MAIL
U.S. POSTAGE
PAID
Mail Services, Inc.

This identifies the mailer as "Mail Services, Inc." This contracter's website indicates that it is located in Richmond VA (and has or had offices in Sterling VA and Des Plaines IL). The envelopes are mailed from a city where Mail Services, Inc. holds a mailing permit.

Standard Mail is slower than First Class Mail. After my coupons were mailed it took close to two weeks to reach me, and I am in Portland Oregon. If the coupons had been mailed in Portland they would probably been delivered within a day or so.
