I am thinking about purchasing the SVS SB12+. My room is large, but the small foot print appeals to me. The subs I found but I thought the SVS would out perform:
Aperion Bravus 10 (can't find any reviews and more expensive)
ACI Force XL (more expensive)
ML Abyss (more expensive)
Would any of the above listed subs outperform the SB12+?
Is there a used Sub with a small footprint (15x15x15 or smaller) that I should keep my eye on? Or a new sub I have not though of?
My listening habits are 75% music 25% HT. I have never owned a sub before, so my baseline is zero. I do enjoy listening to music kind of loud sometimes.

I doubt any of the subs you mentioned can out-perform the SB12. To step up in performance and keep the footprint at 15" cubed, you might have to go up in price significantly with something like a Velodyne DD-12 or a DefTech Supercube I.
Thanks mojomike,
I believe you have two sb12+'s. Have you ever heard the supercubeI? any thoughts on comparing one sb12+ vs. one subercubeI? (the DD-12 is way out of reach).

I do have a pair of of SB12's, but they do not handle any LFE duties. They are hooked up in stereo along with the L&R main speakers. They sound great with music. I haven't heard the Supercube I, but it does have a good deal more power so it should certainly have more output than a SB12.
What about an Epik Valor? It's $549 and will outperform the SB12 in all respects and be slightly larger. It's 22x16x21.

Slightly? Vs 14x14x15? You are kidding, of course.
kip,
I am trying to keep the dimensions under 15 x 15 x 15. I know this limits my options, and the value performance ratio is out the window.

The SB12+ is a great sub. Some Tweeter stores are clearing out the Abyss for $550 (check their clearance inventory list)

I've owned the SVS previously. Great lil sub, as said above In a form factor that small you'd have to move up to something like the DD-12 to best performance an then comes into play, humm I could have had 3 SB12s. Great performer at it's price point and small form factor.
Don't expect anything useable below 25hz though, without EQ anyway and if you're an a larger room as you described you might seriously want to think about 2.
The Abyss is another good choice, I wasn't aware they were being closed out at the price listed above but if you can fine em at that price duals would be great also. A lil closer to the SB12s price and I think it has the edge.

I have a SuperCubeI and love it. it's flat down to 20hz +/-3db! pretty low for such a small sub imho.
