Hi,
I just bought this sub and i am in the middle of waiting ofor my speakers to come. I hooked it up to the subwoofer jack with no speakers hooked up other than this. I was just getting all my components ready so i could plug in my speakers. Well I powered on the receiver, then the sub and nothing. There is a power switch at the top that is suppose to be green when in use. No color is coming on. It is like it seems to be dead. Am I missing something here?
I tried 4 different outlets and plugged in my receiver to these outlets as well.
Is anyone familiar with this sub? Am i doing something wrong here or indeed do you need speakers for this thing to turn out and get sound. I do not even know the correct settings on the back. I am simply hooking it up to a sony receiver sub jack to give my acoustimass some more bass. Right now, I am looking at a receiver and a sub plugged in with nothing. I have my receiver set to sub yes. Can anyone give me any ideas other than it is GONE?
Anything to set, look for, etc...?
thanks
Corey

Sounds like it is in stand by mode. You did plug a RCA cable from the receiver to the sub? Turned on a CD (with bass), and selected that input on the receiver? Sub probably should come on and the LED should turn green...

I actually found out that it was garbage. Somehow it during transit the subwoofer was damaged because it was flat out dead. I went up to circuit city just to make sure my receiver subwoofer input wasnt bad, and i did exactly what you said and it fired right up when I bought a brand new one..
thanks for your reply.....
