I have a Sony mini-DV that is about six or seven years old. It can receive images from an external video camera and record them to a digital card. Problem is, the memory cards only hold so much data, so I can capture about 11 minutes of footage before it fills up. So I need to buy a new camera.

Here is my situation. I have a small external camera that is mounted to a roll bar on my race car. It then feeds to a power box which runs the external camera. From the power box, it utilizes RCA cables that extend to the camcorder.

I would like to buy a camcorder that can receive an image from this camera and record to a digital memory card. I am not sure what the official terminology is for this functionality and nobody at Best Buy or Circuit City can help me.

There has got to be a camera out there that can provide this function.
