I have a PCH and I'd say the boot time from a cold start is 15-20 seconds. But note that the PCH only really goes into standby mode when you use the power button on the remote. Recovering from standby is pretty much instantaneous (<3 seconds I'd say).

The 6500 does take longer roughly 25 - 30 seconds. Roughly, the same time as a HD-DVD player or Blu-ray player. It does not offer a standby mode.

PH from a cold boot is a little faster probably 20 seconds. From standby mode it is roughly 1 second.

tnx guys, thats pretty good the standby mode sounds awesome. can this Popcorn hour be controlled with a Harmony One remote, ( I would love to add an activity ) this was the reason I asked since I know it doesn't have a power button.

Can the stand by be implemented in the 6500 thats a hot feature.

Would the HDX900 feature the same standy, cuz i'm liking the look of it more as well as power button vs the popcorn hour.

Thanks guys..

p.s: The standby mode just added 10+ point of love for me :)

The PH can be controlled by the Harmony one. It is in the database and works on my Harmony One. :)

The PH standy-by mode really is just turning off the video, the rest of the unit stays powered on.

While I'm sure that DVICO could implement the same feature on the 6500, I doubt they will. Most people, myself included, like the fact that the unit really powers off saving on the electric bill. Like I said prevoiusly, it takes no longer for the 6500 to start then any of the HD-DVD or Blu-Ray players currently on the market.
