I have an Onkyo SKW204 and am looking to change out to a different sub due to this one rattling and bottoming out so much...

I have a CC giftcard and am looking at the MTX SW2..I know, I know...it only has 100watts, but, if I add it into the system and jump to the Onkyo through this MTX, will it help carrying the lower tones and reduce the inspeaker rattling that is driving me insane?

After the giftcard, I will only be paying about $50....

Thanks.

It's not about how many watts the MTX has, it's the design and construction.

Tell us how much money you can pull together for a new subwoofer. It's going to cost you about $240 (at the moment), to really make it worthwhile. If you can wait several months, search Scamp 10. Going to be a best bang for the buck sub at around $210 delivered.

While you're at CC, see if they have a Velodyne VRP-1200 floor model. They are clearancing these and practically giving them away for $150-170. This should fit well with your budget. Even a VRP-1000 would be a big step up at $125-140.

Agreed if you're confined to CC one of the Velos would be a better choice.

Hey!! Great idea! Didn't even think about that.

The Element sub seems the best to me at CC. I own both the MTX and the Element sub. The MTX needed polly fiber fill in it. The thing had NOTHING in the box. Sounds awesome now. Out of the Element sub vs the Velos the Element sub killed it.
