Hey guys,
just need basic advice on a device. All I want is a device for which i can stream ripped dvds (standard, hd-dvd, and blu-ray) through component video for my tv in the living room. it needs to be able to output 1080i (older mits does not accept 720p) and read from a fileshare on a windows box. Cost should be reasonable.
The intent is simple: preserve original DVDs by viewing content from computer. This is for my 4 year old son who has a tendency to wreck dvds somewhere between storage and the dvd player.
Daddy will do the ripping and configuration. I'm open to file formats (i guess ISO, Vob, etc) so suggestions there would be helpful as well.
TIA,
Jay
