My Samsung HLP4663W dimmed noticeably before crapping out. I replaced the bulb but the brightness didn't return.

The new bulb is smaller, but DM and Samsungparts both assured me there would be no decrease in performance. Has anybody replaced their bulb with the smaller bulb? Was there any difference in brightness? Thanks.

I posted on my Samsung earlier, but this question is specific to the bulb so I thought I would start a new thread.
