How I wish HD-DVD was still around...
Although Blu-ray had been releasing a lot more titles as compared to HD-DVD, the movies are a hit or miss. AT least HD-DVD had a steady flow of new and interesting titles. Maybe it's just me but I don't go out and purchase/rent a movie just because it's HD. Now that I had gotten myself a Blu-ray player, where's the titles? "Dan in Real Life", "Walk Hard"??? Nah i'll pass. Where's Cloverfield? Where's Sweeney Todd? Kind of disappointed...:( Oh well, back to baseball...

Cloverfield is a paramount title... what do you expect?
Sweeny Todd is Dreamworks/WarnerBros. ... another what do you expect?

Be patient... There are plenty of great titles available.

This week about 20 titles were announced (not including the Paramount reissues). Last week it was only slightly less.

We are seeing a huge outpouring of new titles from all studios. This includes makeup titles like Batman Begins and V for Vendetta from Warners, titles like Cloverfield and There will be Blood from Paramount.

BTW Dan in Real Life is a very good film. Also try I am Legend, Golden Compass (really good), etc.

Sweeney Todd will be here very soon. Or order it from UK.

This has to be a joke topic. Why would anyone ask about a title(Clovey) that has just made the BD headlines yesterday?

Walk Hard is awesome and gets better every time you watch, the 2nd disc of extras is all HD. Plus there's like 10 top titles being released on 6/10 alone.

BTW- I misread the thread title and thought "right on".;)

You gotta be freakin' kiddin' me. I think most people are oblivious to studio announcements.

Jeez, this has become pretty much a weekly thread, hasn't it?

Someone had a really nice post not too long ago that showed the release schedule for this time last year compared to now. Last year this time was much worse. And as mentioned Cloverfield is coming, and Sweeney will be available for import very shortly.

How I wish HD-DVD was still around...Which is a sentiment most people in this section of the forum would not agree with since most are happy the format war is over and that all the major studios support Blu-ray.

Although Blu-ray had been releasing a lot more titles as compared to HD-DVD, the movies are a hit or miss. AT least HD-DVD had a steady flow of new and interesting titles.I think that both HD formats have had hit or miss titles depending on personal taste and remember that the format war is over.

Now that I had gotten myself a Blu-ray player, where's the titles? There are 500+ titles on Blu-ray now so unless you have some really obscure tastes there are bound to be some that you would enjoy.

Where's Cloverfield?Coming out June 3rd (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showpost.php?p=13759786&postcount=3725).

Nothing to worry OP. The Studios ain't McDonalds or Burger King to keep throwing their burgers at us. Let's give the Studios some time and see what they have in store for us.
