The Subject says it all. I want this to be a gift for my mom and I'm just stumped. A few years ago when we where looking at RP DLP and LCos 60/61" prices where much higher. Now that both are way down in price I wanna go for one of them for her. Both would be with very little HDTV content but will be xbox media center run or tivo most of the time.

Any thoughts are welcome please.

My opinion is basically off what you tell me your parents will be watching.
With little hd content I would go with the smaller 40 inch 120hz set. A 61 inch screen is going to need hd content. Dvd's, tivo etc would look fine at that size. My brother in law just got a 55 inch sony sxrd rear proj and says the tivo does not look very good on a screen that size, he is upgrading today to directv hd dvr receiver.

I'd hold off on ANY 120Hz set right now. Most are either love or hate and you'd probably not want to end up with hate.

My parents have a nice 46" DLP Samsung. They get rubbish reception in their area so most of the work it does is DVD playback, which it does VERY well.
