Guess Paramount found the key to the locker where they stored all the undestroyed Blu-ray copies taken off store shelves last year, and are releasing them to the public May 20th: http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/news/show/Paramount/Disc_Announcements/Paramount_Reschedules_Blades_of_Glory_Blu-ray_for_May/1704.

I know a lot of people don't...but I love this movie.

I'd preordered the blu ray from Amazon before Paramount went HD DVD only. Ended up seeing this on cable and for once Paramount did me a favor because it's not a movie I'd watch over again. Was funny at spots, but to me, it wasn't as good as Talladega Nights.

I have it saved on my HD-DVR and will probably buy it on BR.
I think W.F. is funny before he even talks.

I actually liked this movie better than Talladega Nights, but I am not a racing fan--although I am not a skating fan either!

Once again, announcements like this prove it is NEVER worth spending over $100 on a single movie, with a bit of patience you will eventually get it. Do you hear me everyone spending $300+ for the Jack Ryan collection on HD DVD? I'm talking to you! :D

As I was reading your post I was thinking immediately, but he's a skating fan?
Then I finished reading it, lol.
I don't like either sport, but they made for alot of laughs.

I had this on preorder. Although I have subsequently seen it and wasn't crazy about it, I am eagerly ordering it.

If they wanted to go exclusive HD DVD (a stupid idea it turns out), I could have understood that. But to pull a title that had already been pressed and was on its way to dealers really touched a sore spot in me and many others.

I don't like being pushed around by large corporations. Toshiba/Microsoft really earned my annoyance for this deal, and it will be a long time before I respect Paramount very much even though I have no choice but to buy their products.

This thing is up for pre-order at frys for around $23. Face/Off too.

That means Clovey and TWBB should be priced similarly right?

I agree with you...but from a business point of view it wasn't a stupid idea to go HD DVD exclusive at all. Think about it : They got paid hundreds of millions of dollars to go exclusive for about 6 months, far more than they would've made money-wise from selling Blu rays over that period of time, and during a point in time were they weren't enough blu ray player owners to really be noticed by the masses in the long term.

Paramount agreed to $50 million for their HD DVD exclusitivity. That's hardly "hundreds of millions." ;)

And Paramount pissed off alot of consumers...alot of whom they're trying to appease now with their many blu-ray releases.

If they think a lot of releases will appease me...they're right.

The movie studios have always been very mercurial and willing to change at a moment's notice. Lots of examples in history.

I got this on hd dvd just for the sake it was in HD. After you do that a few times your question your motives.

I promptly traded it in for $7. More pixels doesn't make the movie better. Rent it I say.

This movie stunk pretty bad. Still looking forward to Transformers and Top Gun on Blu-ray, like I was before they cancelled them, and hopefully with PCM tracks.
