My friend gave me a Sony VPL-PX15 today. He said that there was a bit of fuzz in a corner and that he didn't want it. He also mentioned that it hasn't been turned on in 2 years. I asked him about the blue tint he said that it wasn't doing that when he was using it.When it is warming up it looks OK but when playing xbox or even just with a blank input there is a blue tint on the whole image. You can still see the colors expect for black and it is just blue. Also, it looks if the projectors menu is burned into the bulb? I don't know if that is possible that just the way it looks.I have reset all the setting to factor default. Does this sound like a bad build or something more in depth?
Thanks for taking your time reading this post.

Nothing can be burned into the bulb. Nor can the bulb cause any image problems other than a weak image. Any discolorations, menu burns, etc., will be due to burn on the Polarizers. While these are replaceable. you would be spending quite a bit for each one, there are 4 and we don't know which ones, if not all, are affected. And if you aren't comfortable doing the repairs yourself, (assuming you can find a source willing to seel you the parts), then by the time you had labor charges, you've spent enough to buy a new projector.

Thanks for the reply, Sherdan1952 looks like I just need to buy a new one. I read somewhere about the LCD panels, said they might need be aligned. Heard anything about this?
Thanks.

LCD panels in MOST (low-end) projectors are not adjustable. They are assembled by placing the optical components in a jig and running a signal into the panels. The panels are aligned and then permanently fixed the optical prism. So theoretically, no realignment is ever necessary.
Whether your projector falls into this, I can't say. I've never been into that model, but I suspect not. If you could, you would see tiny adjustment screws on the top of the LCD panels.
