Went to turn on the projector last night and the lamp came on, but no picture whatsoever. In addition, the menu does not allow me to adjust picture settings and it indicates it is receiving no signal.

I took my processor out of the loop and connected the HDMI from a couple of sources directly, nothing.

I shut down the unit, unplugged it, waited a couple of hours, plugged it back in and started it up and the same thing.

I called my dealer (AV Science of course) this morning and they are out until Monday.

I am guessing I will end up sending it to Sony for repair, but wanted to get some suggestions of possible things to try.

I do not have another TV with an HDMI input, so I can't check out to see if it is a cable problem, although I do need a new TV for the office and was thinking about buying a 26" LCD. Maybe I will do that so I can check to make sure it is not a cable issue.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Mike

Might be a cable or input issue - there is a menu setting for what input to use - if it is on the wrong input that would cause the symptoms you describe. Also - try using the other HDMI input and choosing that input in the PJ menu. Try a short cable to a player as a temp test for cable issue.

If the VW60 does not receive a signal, the picture settings will be greyed out.

I assume the rest of the projector's menu is working, ie can you get test patterns up from the VW60s internal patterns. If you can it is likely not the projector but something else.

Have you tried using both HDMI ports and/or have you tried using different HDMI cables? Make sure both ends of the cable are securely connected.

Have you tried using a different input, ie component?

Odd problem - both the HDMI1 on the VW60 and the main HDMI-Main on my Integra 9.8 do not seem to be working.

I switched to the HDMI2 on the VW60 and the HDMI-Sub (second output) on the 9.8 and was able to get everything to work.

I also tried that cable I was using for the #2 input/output in the #1 and the inputs did ot work with the cable I know works.

We had an electrical storm the other night, but I unplugged the equipment from the power outlets before it happened, so I am not sure how that could have been the problem.

Odd.
