Hi,

I have Onkyo HT S894 connected with HDMI to DVD and output to Panasonic plasma. Recently i purchased Dell XPS 1530 and tried to use onkyo reciever to connect laptop to TV using a second HDMI cable.

Onkyo does not recognize Dell's HDMI when i plug it in and displays message " No Input ". However when i directly plug Dell into TV using HDMI wire bypassing onkyo reciever it works fine. My reciever did recognize my laptop once somehow but when i turned off PC and turned it on again it didn't work.

My HDMI wire and the socket on the reciever works fine with XBOX 360 but fails to recognize PC. I have even tried connecting laptops HDMI to DVD player HDMI socket that works fine but even that does not recognize laptop.

This is my first post and Input in this regard is really appreciated.

Few things. Make sure you have latest video drivers. Check in the HTPC forum too. And there's a post or two here about PCs and HDMI. Some people solved their problem with a DVI Detective and another "box" that does similar things.
