I am looking at either getting the Velodyne SPL1200R or the Velodyne SC12 with the SC1250 to power it.
If I could get either one of these 2 for the same price, which should I buy?

I'm thinking that your end results are going to be pretty close, but I'd go with the SC12/SC1250 option. The amp has a little more power and it would allow you to easily add another SC12 to it relatively inexpensively.
