Although neither of these DLP's have hit the street yet. I'm traditionally a Sammy man but they have received a lot of complaints lately on quality control and/or design defects. The Mits Diamond Series is getting good marks. Would the Mit look better in a side by side comparison?
Of course I understand this is all theoretical still but what would you all expect the answer would be based on the quality of their existing line?
And one last thought, I was considering sizing down to the 67" Sammy LED model but this is for a dedicated theater room and I was going for the best movie experience possible. Is the LED really all that?

Neither are out yet - the Mits should be in the next week or 2.
The Mits, for SURE, has Darkchip4. I can't believe that will not be an improvement but we need to wait and see
I guess Samsung hasn't confirmed yet that their new line carried the DC4. Heck you can't even get them to confirm if the new line supports 120hz frame rate conversion. Unfornately you can't get that in the Mit without going to the 73835 model which is very pricey. Bummer. I wonder how much 120hz really improves the PQ?

Wich might that be ? Not enough time to read all the posts in those 2 threads. Whats your opinion ?

this years mits's so far are a big improvment over last years . i cant wait to see the diamond model, and compare the three mits moderls.
So any new updates on these two models? Any preferences? The Mits is about $250 than the Samsung on Amazon. I've always owned Samsungs so that is where my comfort zone is.

I have no idea what Hipnotiq is getting at. Having spent way too much time reading owners' threads for various brands, I have never been able to discern a clear preference for any of them. In fact, you largely get the impression everyone hates their TV. :)
Seriously, I was just in the same situation and if there was any consensus winner between Sammy and Mits, it escaped me. I was really leaning towards the Mits and nearly bought a 73733 back in January, but ended up finding a good deal on a Samsung HL-T7288W and bought it. I've only had it for a couple weeks and so far I love it. I didn't see anything terribly compelling about the new models so I saved a few hundred bucks. But, given a similar deal I would have bought a Mits, I don't think there's much of a difference, really.
I'm looking to upgrade my Samsung HL-T6756 (67" lamp based dlp) to the HL67A750 for the fact that is led and has 120hz.
other then that it wont be any size upgrade but I probably shouldn't go too much bigger anyway though I would consider the Samsung 72" if it was led and though its been out a long time (a year now?) I dont see any of the specs saying it has 120hz. if it does i may consider it just cus the HL67A750 seems ot have been discontinued (though not sure why) and is impossible to find.
at least then i'd be upgrading in size from 67 to 72 though still lamp based. but if its not 120hz then not worth it. cus i'm addicted to that feature on another tv i have with it.
I dont like MIts as much or their designs and the out of box colors are terrible. you hae to get a calibration. I got an isf pro calibration on my 67" sam dlp and it uses movie mode and kind of makes it a bit darker and less vibrant so I didn't really even love it at first but its what its supposed to be and most accurate and great for movies in dark setting. during the day for tv watching in brighter room you can just change it to Stanardar or Dynamic mode whic is brighter but the movie mode is what they calibrate it on.
It seems Samsung has queitly decided to stop making dlps altogether even though the slim led dlps were great and allowed you to get screen sizes that they dont even make in flat screens and even the ones that will come close in the coming months like the new sam 65" lcd is like 5k. totally not worth it and its not 67" or larger.
I guess i should just be happy wiht my HL-S6756 isf pro calibrated with a bulb that should have a lot of hours left on it and then a spare bulb which only has like 6mo of use on it. and my Hlt6187 61" led dlp.
its just i was thinking of upping that to 65" or 67" and the 120hz feature for that room/set also.
and then upping the 67" lamp based dlp that is 60hz to the 67" led with 120hz or lamp based 72" for the size upgrade as long as it also had 120hz
i guess we will never see a 72" led and i can't believe the newest 72" sam dlp isn't 120hz? even though it came out around the same time or after the hl67a750 led dlp which is 120hz.
I guess its good to hold onto the larger dlps you have n ow from sam cus it looks the only choice is mitsu now and its going to be 5-10 years before flat screen (currently lcd and plasma are the 2 only remaining technologies and none of the new ones talked about for years have emerged) are going to be at sizes 67" or larger and at the price these dlps were.
sucks and there seems to be no news of anything large, nice looking and reasonably priced coming out.
I even have a Sasmsung UN55B8000 their newest slimmest led lcds and while its nice and 240hz I still love the size and price you can get the sam dlps and though they were getting good with 120hz, led and slimmer cabinet
seems that era is coming to an end and we are going to be stuck with small flat screens and to get even 65" is 5k which you could get 4 larger dlps for.
sucks
but let me know if anyone knows where you can find a HL67A750 or if there is a samsung dlp larger then 67" with the 120hz feature.
i know the mitsu's have 120hz so i may consider that if i really want to upgrade the size from the 67" but i would have been happy with upgrading to the same size for led and 120hz, oh well
and as far as upgrading my 61" led dlp to something a littler larger and with 120hz then maybe id consider a 63" sam plasma or the upcomign 65" lcd but its mostly too expensive and not worth it.
i'd upgrade the 61" to a mitsu 65" dlp for 120hz but losing led would be a downgrade.
ideally i wanted to upgrade my 61" led dlp 60hz to the 67" led dlp 120hz and then i could upgrade the 67" to a 72" though again yeah if the sam 72" isn't 120hz id prob got with the mitsu for that.
