looking at buying one of these, wanted comments especially those with G25. The classics looks like a better design but the evolution seems like it is made better (sturdier)

View Full Version : Playseat, anyone buy one Suzook 05-05-08, 07:41 PM looking at buying one of these, wanted comments especially those with G25. The classics looks like a better design but the evolution seems like it is made better (sturdier) bgarner 05-05-08, 08:27 PM I just got one a few weeks ago, and let me say it is the best investment ever. I have it mounted with the G25 which works great. Highly recommended. Not only is the G25 a great wheel, but having it mounted with the playseat makes it that much better. Heck, I am considering purchasing another one so that I can race side by side with the kids. The only drawback is that it doesn't work with the 360 which sucks because I love Project Gotham and after purchasing this, I will not go back to using a controller, and I definitely don't plan to waste my money on the 360 Wireless wheel. If you have the space, I would definitely recommend the G25 with Playseat. Saul 05-05-08, 08:41 PM I have one with the G25 shifter holder being used with the G25 wheel. It's an excellent investment! Playseatsna.com have the best deal on 'em. Suzook 05-05-08, 09:32 PM got one through Sports Authority of all places with a 15% off coupon and $9.99 shipping so not too shabby. Hughmc 05-05-08, 11:35 PM Looks cool and I am sure they work great and if I want something within reason money is no issue, but even though you can use it for other games, I am having a hard time justifying even 200.00 for a seat for a 60.00 game. I have a lower end wheel, but I can imagine some bought the seat and high end wheel and came close to 600.00 for both. number1laing 05-05-08, 11:42 PM Heck, I am considering purchasing another one so that I can race side by side with the kids. I am gonna be overdramatic here and say it is scandalous Microsoft forces you to buy their crappy wheel to play racing games. They should realize that thing is not acceptable for G25 owners. As for me... if I had my own gaming/hangout space I would get a Playseat in a second. But I don't. KJ43 05-06-08, 12:20 AM I have one. I'm super happy with the quality of it and how well the G25 fits it. GT5P is much more comfortable than if I was hunched over my coffee table. rizzxx7 05-06-08, 07:45 AM I have one as well and love it. I don't have the g25 yet but the I'm pretty satisfied with the dfp for now but I will probably bite the bullet and get the g25 Rock Daddy 05-06-08, 08:03 AM I have the evolution series and it has an optional mount you can get for the G25 shifter to be put down by your thigh like a real car setup. The Classic does not have this available. t-ray 05-06-08, 09:56 AM I *really* want a playseat, and I want to upgrade to the G25 from my current DFP. Unfortunately, floorspace and storage room is a premium right now in my theater. What with all the furniture, av equipment, rock band stuff, arcade sticks, server rack, poker table, and all the other ish, my wife would kill me if I asked for a seat. number1laing 05-06-08, 10:10 AM Who says you ask for one? J/K Im not married... ruffnexx 05-06-08, 01:19 PM Just got mine last week. Shifter just came in at work today. Man, this thing makes racing games even more fun. Before I had my G25 clamped to a little table that I wedged against one of my couches. The playseat evo looks like it was designed specifically for the G25. My only problem is that it is heavy and I can't leave it in my living room all the time. Time to look for a new house with a seperate room for a theater. rizzxx7 05-08-08, 10:28 AM it definitely makes the game that much better |
