Lucas has said he has no plans of releasing on BD until it's more mainstream. However, there has been a lot of word from trusted sources that Kingdom will be day and date with the DVD.

I'd say it's only logical to assume that if they're going to release Indiana Jones any time in the next couple of years, it would be be when Indy 4 goes to DVD. I can't see that any other time would make sense from a marketing standpoint.

Hopefully we'll at least get Indy 4 on BD.

I was thinking this too. Especially with Speilberg as the director. If anything, I'd think Speilberg would have more control than Lucas. But, I've really never looked up who has control of what, so I may be wrong.

Yes, he does. Which is why it took six years for Indy to come to DVD. It's a Lucasfilm flick, distributed by Paramount.

doesnt matter who controls it. until there are millions and millions of bd players out there none of those movies will see the light of day on bd.

This reminds me of Star Wars on DVD.

The "Phantom Menace" came out at the same time the VHS copy came out - but the original trilogy took YEARS to come out on DVD.

I think we'll see the same thing hear - expect to see Indy IV Blu Ray with the DVD release, but don't expect to see the originals for quite some time.

Actually The Phantom Menace DVD came out about 18 months after the VHS.

VHS= April 2000
DVD= October 2001

If they're serious about Blu-ray succeeding, then it's time to put up or shut up. Let's get some BIG titles please!

Im sure he will wait till the format is close to death and THEN release his movies. I don't understand his strategy.
