Looks like it has the 4 USBs and Memory card slots and SACD also. Did the other 80 GB have these? Excellent deal and the best version put out so far i think. I see this selling very well.

yeah, it's going to be EXACTLY the same as the previous 80gb's to my knowledge. only difference in package will be ds3 and mgs4 of course. I don't think there is ANY chance the die will be the 45nm one. If it is, i may sell my 40gb just to have the "latest and greatest." :) Even though mine runs cold and cool atm.

No way will it be the 45nm die, that will not be online for another 1-2 years. But it might be the 60nm or whatever it is the 40gb is using. Unless they had tons of unsold 80gb and are just repackaging them, don't think that's the case though.

Isn't that just what I said? The CELL is able to emulate the PS1 CPU by itself. Since the CELL is in every PS3 yes every PS3 can run PS1 games. PS2 emulation at the moment requires some hardware help which the 40gb lacks.

i would actually be interested to see how terrible a ps1 game looks on a 50" sony sxrd :) are all the timeless classics from ps2 or did ps1 have a lot of hits? i mean as good as god of war, collosus and ff12 etc.

What sources? I would be interested in reading that, because it doesn't make any sense. Sony has admitted the 80gb sold a lot better than they thought it would... if they don't realize that is because it has BC they are insane.

Sony probably knows. They've already said it has BC, both on the PS Blog and on SonyStyle.

I bought a refurbed 80GB unit about a month ago and it died after 2 weeks of use (maybe 10 hours of use). Sent it back to the seller and will be getting a refund. If I lasted this long, I can wait another month without a PS3.
