I value the opinions and knowledge of the AVS peeps so I am asking you this... which BT headset have you found to be the best?

I have a motorola h 500...which is what they have for sale in the ps3 section of most B & M stores....I dont know if its the headset or what but everytime I play motorstorm I have to make a room, press the center button on the headset...get kicked back to the lobby...make another room and then usually it works...playing poker, sometimes I can hear peeps just fine and they cant hear me.

This is so frustratiing that I have turned to playing mostly 360 the last week.

Which headset do you use and have you had any problems. I am going to buy a new one I just want to see what the majority of you are using.

Thanks

Maximus...I also started with that headset...I can't tell you how many times I threw it across the room due to loosing it's connection in a game and the only way to reset was exit the game and connect via the ps3 . I ended up getting a plantronics from walmart (cheapest one they had..right around $30). It is a awesome. If it does loose connection for whatever reason, just press the on/off button (while in the game) and it re-connects. I love it and if I ever do find that damn h500 (not sure where the last place I threw it was ) I'm going to throw it in the toilet and piss on it .

I bought the Madcatz BT headset. Same issues with it... it can shut off or go into standby mode, then you have to exit out of your game, reconnect it, etc... huge pain in the arse. Also it is incredibly uncomfortable on the ear, and feels like it's gonna fall off at any given moment. I hate that damned thing...

To all having issues: Do a search. You will find that there are some headsets that don't play well with the PS3.

Moto's - it must have a switch, if it uses a button you're probably going to be mad.

Most AVS users tend to lean on Plantronics and Jabra. I think most of the models work just fine, you just want to search for features that you like.

Myself - plantronics voyager 510 - well worth the $80 at BB after the fiasco with my H350.

I got a basic $30 Plantronics unit as well and have ZERO complaints, it works perfectly :)

thanks for the replies guys, I really appreciate it...now I know what I can buy with my $50 hd-dvd card from BB:D

Do you guys turn the headset on and then the PS3, or the ps3 first and then the headset? or does it matter?

PS3 first, then headset.

+1 to the "Motorola is s**t" crew. Jabra BT135, no problems here apart from the battery life having gone downhill from excessive use.
