Does anyone else still have the issue of having to refocus PLV-Z2000 everytime you turn it back on?

Has anyone found a solution. Is this a common problem? I called Sanyo tech support and they said theyve never heard of this problem and that they would look into it.

Its mostly noticeable because i use the projector to watch Netlflix Instant movies and when i switch back from fullscreen to windows desktop, i can see the text is slightly blurry. Otherwise, i dont think id notice it too much. Ofcourse once i refocus, the movies look better. Ive noticed the problem even after watching movies for a couple of hours.

I saw in the other posts (in little bits and pieces) that its possibly due to the heat and turning on highland fan mode would help. I tried that and also the room is quite chilly and the projector sits about 2-1/2 feet from ceiling on a shelf all by itself. Nothing near, under,... This does seem to have helped, but not fully.

If it werent for the new price after $600 rebate i would have returned it instantly. But im afraid of trying to turn it in for warranty as the unit is excellent in every other aspect. Afraid id get sent back a refurbished unit replacement or they accidently mess something up.

I havnt had the unit for long, anyone thats had it for several months have any input?

Mine does this and it is heat related. If I focus when the unit is first turned on it will be out of focus slightly after it heats up about 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour later. Highland mode helps but does not completely fix the problem. I had an Infocus machine that behaved like this and yes it is annoying. Some people like to defocus slightly to hide any hint of a screen door effect but I am a full on "as sharp as you can get" kind of person. Screen door does not bother me nor is it much of an issue with a 1080p machine. I normally focus the unit after it has been running for about a 1/2 hour and it seems still to be pretty sharp after a 2 hour movie. I have a very cool basement room which is colder in the winter then during the summer and early fall. It seems to be a bit more stable as it is beginning to warm up down there now as we approach the summer months here in the northeast.
