If there's one thing I learned is that SDE is more annoying than lack of sharpness. What good is a 2x zoom if it doesn't allow you sitting flexibility. On a 92"-100" screen, if your front row is within 10 feet, it's SDE city. The latest LCD projects are ridiculously sharp, and IMO, unnecessarily so. Panasonic's tech is very good but offshoots it. It's actually better than DLP in SDE but really isn't needed. They could have made it a tad sharper and still have excellent reduction of SDE. I just don't understand why companies like Epson, Mitsubishi and Sanyo continue to offer razor sharp focus and not fix the SDE.

How bad is SDE for 100" from 10' for 1080p?

Not much at all actually. But the vast majority of projectors sold are 720p. That's mainly what I was alluding to. Although I should have been more clear.

Maybe James can make an external device to correct SDE?

No SDE on a Panasonic, and it's plenty sharp for me...

Slight turn on your focus wheel should accomplish this, no?
