Sony324 05-12-08, 09:50 PM D-Nice,
Can I use the reference settings for the 110FD during the 200hr. break-in period?
Also, why is the color at +6 (shouldn't color be at or below 0?)
cwest54 05-12-08, 09:50 PM "Some of the electronics in the media box" = just an HDMI splitter add on? Perhaps you're correct, but I got the impression from some of the posts that the panel with this model will actually be slimmer because there will be a more substantial displacement of electronics to the media box.
From PIO UK site, the box is just an HDMI splitter add-on, and I do not think, based on prior posts, the US Signature's will have this. Really no reason to have this if the Videophile buying it also has the appropriate Audiophile HDMI Receiver.
You are an idiot if you think that the world relies on D Nice for info about Pioneer panels. There are plenty of D Nice's around the world, many of them just do not sit at a computer and answer forum questions with their free time. Many more people are in the know, than you think Paul.I agree. Therr are a few on this board....registered and un-registered from Pioneer...and not just Pioneer NA ;)
Can you say anything else about the Signature series? What does KRP stand for? Differences between this and Elite other than no tuner and speakers and thinner?
I'm wondering if the introduction of the new model could lead to a deterioration in Elite quality. If the best models were cherry-picked before and became Elites (lower tolerance for variability from standards) and now the best components will be cherry picked to be put into Signature monitors, does that mean the Elites will be getting a lower quality of panel?KRP is an acronym for Kuro Plasma.
The easiest analogy for the Signature series is to look at Sony a few years ago. The Signature series would be their Qualia brand while the regular Elites would be the ES line. Both were excellent, but the Qualias were hand built.
D-Nice,
I have decided to get the Pro-110fd as I am getting a phenomenal deal on it. I am getting it tommorow.
Can I use your "Reference Settings" for the first 200 hr. break-in period? Also, how come the color is boosted to +6 on the reference settings (shouldn't color normally be 0?)
Anyways, I am excited to get the tv. I am hoping your reference settings will give deep blacks and solid colors for both tv and blu-rays. Please get back to me. Thanks D-Nice.Yes you can go straight to the reference settings. +6 for Color was the end result of calibration.

Sigh. Just when I thought I had made up my mind which model I was buying, I get indecisive again. Oh well. This week will reveal much.
AtlPaul 05-12-08, 10:08 PM D-Nice - thank you for the information you supply and the time you take in doing so. It is much appreciated.
I think Blade Runner would make excellent demo material for Kuros. The lighting in that movie is spectacular.

D-Nice-
Stop hating
I'm not hating. Just wishing :D
Yeah,
Here comes the guy with 11 posts.
OK, im a lawyer, and I like to see evidence. Where are the people in the know? Care to share a link?
You dont get it do you? Even if I accept the notion that a few more people are in the know, what about the 800k people that decide on buying it and dont have that information?
North America Pioneer is retarded. You would have to be a fool if you didnt realize the marketing is broken.
On a positive note, I will be buying a 9g. However, I fear the franchise is in serious financial question and I would like to see it continue.
Paul
Pioneer does not want to start heavily promoting their future products while their dealers still have thousands of pieces of this years inventory remaining.
antennahead 05-12-08, 10:30 PM I plan on taking a trip down there this summer. Need to go to the Market for some Bubba Gump :) I'm not making any promises right now, but if time permits, I'll be more than happy to calibrate your panel.
Bubba Gump? Just kidding :)
Invite me out and I'll buy :)
John
antennahead 05-12-08, 10:31 PM Or as some call it...the "Metro" :)
Smiles. Yes, I have an employee up there, as my company has offices in the "Metro", visit at least once a month.
John
First, the product has not yet been released, only preliminary info has been released, there is a difference. How often does the mass consumer audience know about a product that has better pre-release info than pioneer? Most do not know anything BEFORE the product actually hits brick and motor stores, unless it is a new type of product, such as an iphone, a wii, a ps3, but not merely an update to an already existing line of pdp's. Why does it matter if you have the info now or in late June? It doesn't Mr. Lawyer, you cannot have the product now, when you can have the product there will be more info concerning the product. Get it? This is not exactly the Erie Doctrine, but you probably never got that whole Rules of Enabling Act vs. Rules of Decisions Act dichotomy anyways, right?
Second, as an attorney you should not make an idiotic statement equating internet posts with knowledge of a product. You mentioned apple earlier, how many people have details of the 3g iphone? A lot, but many are employees of apple or one of its suppliers and are not online posting the info due to confidentiality agreements, you should know about those too, Mr. I Like to See Evidence.
Joke.
Well said, Pioneer Man;)
slavyan 05-12-08, 10:48 PM I've been waiting for a 9G Kuro, but just noticed a deal for 5010 on costco website. they are not an authorized online store according to the pioneer website but they are offering 2-years full manufacturer warranty. it looks strange but legitimate to me.
Pioneerdude 05-12-08, 10:51 PM There are more than 2 engineering models. The panels that Pioneer Europe demoed last month are not the ones that will be demo'ed in Cali....or the press demo last week.
I take it you will not be able to post since you will be heading to Marina Del Ray for the Elite Road Show that starts on Wed. of this week.

Wow, a Pioneer plasma as Costco...is this a first? It is a great deal, but if you want to buy online, you might want to look at the big invisiondisplays ad toward the top of the screen....it'd save you a couple of hundred bucks (100 for shipping at costco). Either way, it is a great price and really tempting.
coltsfreak18 05-12-08, 10:56 PM I take it you will not be able to post since you will be heading to Marina Del Ray for the Elite Road Show that starts on Wed. of this week.If I recall correctly, he wasn't invited because he made a post saying that he was jealous of Robert at value electronics for being invited.
BTW robert will be posting every night during the show.
Edit:Enkidu: If I am not mistaken, they used to sell them a long while back. I thought they stopped. I guess they have them online, but not at store.
Bubba Gump? Just kidding :)
Invite me out and I'll buy :)
JohnHey now, I was introduced to Bubba Gump in Chicago :) Loved it there, and I'm sure I'll love the Charleston restaurant.
I take it you will not be able to post since you will be heading to Marina Del Ray for the Elite Road Show that starts on Wed. of this week.
Nope. I will not be there.
coltsfreak18 05-12-08, 11:11 PM Nope. I will not be there.Thats a bummer. At least we still have robert to give us daily updates of the road show.
timberwolf10014 05-12-08, 11:14 PM Pioneer does not want to start heavily promoting their future products while their dealers still have thousands of pieces of this years inventory remaining.
I don't have access to Dealers Inventories, but I would strongly guess that "thousands" is probably closer to 'hundreds' and that would be including floor models (demo's)
http://www.nextag.com/Pioneer-PDP-6010FD-60-557346865/price-history-html
The above link shows historical data on the 6010. The red line shows MSRP ('Maximum'). The black line the 'Median' price. You can see that mid-April the Median price went back to MSRP and 'Number of Sellers' dropped by half. This happens when inventories are low and real Sellers leave, and only Sellers that show prices as advertising, and not because they actually have stock on hand.
The Median price dropped again late April when Dealers were being told of the imminent release of the new product information ... yet number of sellers did not go up. That would imply the last of the sellers were dumping their remaining inventory.
The median price is now back at MSRP and number of sellers low ... based on this information, I will bet you will have to call around to find a new (in the box) 6010
If any of the B&M Posters on this forum would like to confirm that ... I would appreciate it :)
davemak 05-12-08, 11:15 PM I've been waiting for a 9G Kuro, but just noticed a deal for 5010 on costco website. they are not an authorized online store according to the pioneer website but they are offering 2-years full manufacturer warranty. it looks strange but legitimate to me.
Did you also notice the sale price on the 5010FD from one of the site sponsors on this very page? Hint: they are having an 'Authorized Pioneer Sale'. ;)
No sales tax for out of state buyers (but the 2 years warranty from Costco is nice).

cajieboy 05-12-08, 11:18 PM Hey now, I was introduced to Bubba Gump in Chicago :) Loved it there, and I'm sure I'll love the Charleston restaurant.
For hotel, I'd recommend "The Mills House" on Meeting Street...and I really like the bar above the tobacco store a few blocks down, but the name escapes me right now.
Quote: I live in Bay Area, CA, so now the challenge is going to be getting it shipped.
Shipping from Virginia to California?? You are a bigger gambler than I. Whatever money you saved will be spent .... or even more so ... to ship it cross country. And you better hope there's no problem and you have to ship it back. Good luck.
He is right; I'm in No. CA Bay Area as well and buying in Virginia and shipping on your own seems a high risk. I purchased on-line (non-Elites) from an East Coast based e-tailer (authorized, of course) and they shipped from their Nevada warehouse. Shipping included in the price and no sales tax at all....
The 9Gs will be in high demand (especially the Elites based on this thread) but why not go with one of the forum sponsors who seem to be very dedicated to the safe arrival of Kuro's.....
ROMAN O 05-12-08, 11:30 PM I've been waiting for a 9G Kuro, but just noticed a deal for 5010 on costco website. they are not an authorized online store according to the pioneer website but they are offering 2-years full manufacturer warranty. it looks strange but legitimate to me.
Its not the first time they do it every year. I would not worry Pioneer not covering the warranty if it came down to it. Do you really think Costco would sell grey market goods? That is the only time the warranty would not be valid :)
ROMAN O 05-12-08, 11:31 PM I don't have access to Dealers Inventories, but I would strongly guess that "thousands" is probably closer to 'hundreds' and that would be including floor models (demo's)
This would be correct nationwide.
NanoRish 05-12-08, 11:56 PM He is right; I'm in No. CA Bay Area as well and buying in Virginia and shipping on your own seems a high risk. I checked on shipping from Virginia to Bay Area by some of the Freight shippers (Yellow, Roadway), the price is ranging from $370 to $500 depending upon what kind of service I want. Tweeter is going to get back to me if they will ship the TV without me having to ship the TV.
I will wait for the Forum sponsors to come up with the price for Elites and Non-Elites and then decide whether go with the high risk Tweeter path or buying from a Forum Sponsor. How many folks have bought Elite tv's from Forum sponsors or do most of the people buy non-Elite from Forum Sponsors? Wish there was a poll result somewhere.
LTCJack 05-12-08, 11:57 PM Did Tweeter have the msrp of $5999 on the Pro-151fd wrong, or were they just asked to pull the ad so they would not sabotage pioneers efforts to move the last bit of 8g inventory at much higher pricing? Personally, I think the latter..

They had it wrong

This is interesting, does this mean that Pioneer will drop the prices on the 9G from the prices quoted in press release in couple of months once the 8G inventory is cleared out. Has that happened in the past? I don't think I can wait for 2 plus months as I am without TV now. I am hoping the Forum sponsors are competitively prized.
HerbalEd 05-13-08, 12:09 AM Unfortunately PIONEER'S new marketing firm for KURO is also Apples.
Wow! Really? The same firm they had last year?
Sorry guys, I've got a stupid question: when I click on the invision displays banner at the top it asks me for a password and username. I tried logging in with my avs acct but it didn't like it. It's just a plain box with nothing on it. Tried clicking on other banners and they work, I'm getting a website - except for invision. Do I have to register somewhere? It seems weird... Thanks

It looks like their admin panel. They must be updating...

Something is wrong with the banner. Try manually entering http://www.invisiondisplays.com in your browser and it should work.

For the same spend of the Costco deal, you could get the 5010 with an extended 3 yr warranty from one of the more prominent sponsors. Even I am tempted.
Swatdude1 05-13-08, 12:51 AM D-Nice, I own a panny 600u. Decent black levels. But with the lights turned off, the black bars look grey. Have started noticing this more after reading the numerous threads on this forum :(
Ignorance is Bliss!!! Do you ever wish you had just left well enough alone and didn't read any reviews or forums??? Now is see convergence errors, rainbows, poor black level, color errors, etc., etc. Sometimes just not knowing is better!!!!
I went to a friend of a friend's house the other night and I could not stand to sit there and look at there CRT Big Screen until I had asked to borrow the remote and converged the guns using the crappy onscreen pattern.

Yeah I kind of wish I had never read this stuff. I used to think the blacks on my Panny was the cats ass but now after keeping up with this Kuro thread, I go to look at my set and the blacks look gray now.:(
Swatdude1 05-13-08, 01:08 AM Paul, it's not like Pioneer is holding out the information and relying on D-Nice to get the word out. They just haven't released it. I think we'll get lots more info from Pioneer this week. We just happen to be lucky enough to have someone here with contacts who gets info earlier and shares it.
Has anyone considered this is on purpose?? Once all the info is released, you will see retailers trying to dump their current stock of 8g's and prices will drop. The same thing happens with cars. When they released info on the 2004 Acura TL (which I bought), they couldn't give away the old body style.
russwong 05-13-08, 01:16 AM The non-elite will be in July and the Elite will be in August.
Looking like late August, but that can always change.
Does anyone know when the new Elite blue-ray player (BDP-05FD) will be available? Pioneer customer service was non-commital about it.
russwong 05-13-08, 01:17 AM The VSX series of receivers will be June, the SC series will be August.
Alex is correct we just received word from Pioneer today that the Blu-Ray will be out late July, the 6020 and 5020, late June along with the Receiver's. They even listed the Elite's for late June. Hopefully these dates will stand.
russwong 05-13-08, 01:32 AM Sorry, skip a day miss 5 pages of posts.... I think I repeated something some where, but I'm a little dazed. :)
Sorry Roman. My appologizies for discussing cost.
What I was trying to get across to people was that there is "room to play with" when negotiating a deal on an Elite. Many dealers here in Canada refuse to discount MSRP which is ridiculous. I have seen posts from fellow Canadian members saying that dealers won't discount. So, I was basically trying to let other members know that there is some room to move on these panels. Again, my appologizies for discussing cost.
I would not touch a 110 at this point...Yes, it's the world's greatest TV, but the 111 will be better and will be cheaper (or the same price) out of the gate than the 110 is now with the best deals...
PIONEER MAN 05-13-08, 01:53 AM This would be correct nationwide.
I do not know about hundreds, there might not be thousands, but there is at least one thousand KURO units available including floor models when looking at the 4 elite models and three Pure models that were available in 8G. There are hundreds of 1150's alone.
Paulmolive 05-13-08, 03:09 AM I would not touch a 110 at this point...Yes, it's the world's greatest TV, but the 111 will be better and will be cheaper (or the same price) out of the gate than the 110 is now with the best deals...
You've got to take into account that he's located in Canada. The MSRP for most electronics is usually higher than they are in the USA and the prices don't usually go down at all.
I'm really tempted to go south of the border to buy my own Pioneer unless I can find a good price around here.
Off Topic, but it would be nice to hear D-Nice's opinion on this.
LG claims to be releasing an infinite contrast panel this year, with the upcoming release of PG7000 (EU model name) (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showpost.php?p=13847617&postcount=167). The link inside is in Swedish and translated to English. From the article:
Now Korean LG announces a full-hd plasma with absolute blackness, and the release by the end of July.
...
Yes, PG7000 coming at the end of July has completely black representation, confirming Joakim Örnstig, television specialist at LG Nordic region. We have managed to eliminate the idling luminance and the black level measures zero candelas. This compares with 0.03 candelas for our PG6000 model. If D-nice in particular or anyone wish to reply and not do it in this thread to keep it on topic, please reply in the thread linked above. Cheers.

Anyone remember Cypher from Matrix? Steak is good... but getting blown up by a lighting blast is no fun!
Signature series... haha the irony. That's awesome. I am interested in learning about that.

if you read back through the 8G Kuro owners thread you would see where several avs members from canada got together and formed a small buying group and found an Elite dealer to give them a pretty good deal on thier 8G Elites.

nyc6035 05-13-08, 07:09 AM Bye the way, the new KRP Pioneer monitors coming out in August will be the bomb. Who needs a tuner anyway.
Those of us who hang the PDP on the wall use the CC & Tuner for TV along with HMG to feed programing to the set. For me the lack of a cc slot (and tuner in the Signature series) is a net minus.
I'm surprised Pioneer didn't learn that lesson from the 2007 1080P "Monitor" -FHD-1 I believe it was.

the biggest problem with the fhd1 was it only came in a 50" model and it released at an msrp of $10K.

LOL! Same here. That's why I am researching and planning on a new set sometime in the near future. Probably go with a Pio but this time I am going to make absolutely sure I've researched until I find a set that I am happy with it . . . until I read about something better. lol! And I thought reef keeping was expensive!!!
makaveli7x7 05-13-08, 07:23 AM would be really nice if you didn't have to have a cable box. As it stands right now i have went through 2 cable boxes, they both cause pixalation/dropped signals every 5 minutes or so. Straight cable bypassing the box doesn't cause this. Really would have liked to seen something on the new kuro's to do that

The 8Gs have a cable card slot. I'm using it and it works great (I believe better than a cable box for the reasons you've described).
As other posts here have suggested there are (or soon will be) deals to be had on closeouts of the 8Gs. You're giving up (it seems) 10-15% deeper blacks - and the perception of deeper colors (due to the black levels) by not going with the 9Gs...but you'll free yourself from your cable box. This would appear to be your choice...other than waiting for tru2way cable card in the Panny 850U as I understand itscheduled out in the early fall.
The problem with including cable card capability is that the cable companies are changing their systems to a new technology to be able to add more HD channels. If a cable card slot was included, it'd be outdated within a year or two, so what's the point. Besides, doesn't everybody record their programs so they can zip through those commercials?
arunkandra 05-13-08, 08:22 AM By saying the signature series is hand built, does it mean that it will be a better product.....I also see something about rigorous testing...why would they charge more money for the regular elites if they don't do rigorous testing..I know they have speakers, tuners, stand etc but still it doesn't make sense to me that they advertise the signature series as rigorously tested...Can any one throw some light on this

The Signature Series' stand is optional....it does not come with the stand in the box.
The VSX series of receivers will be June, the SC series will be August.I badly want a SC-05 and BDP-51.
D-Nice - Some guys are looking for your opinion on LG's reported infinite black panels coming in July in the 2008 LG thread.
If it's really true coupled with 5:5 these panels could be amazing if the processing is good as well

So would I be okay in terms of PQ if i want to go with elites-- I hate to wait for another 2-3 months for signature series and I will probably need a stand --
Would you say the only things that I will miss by going with elites is the remote ISFC and also the thin monitor( plus speaker/tuner/stand)

I'm in Canada too and also I'd love to know more details about how the last group buy went down. Can anyone PM me a recap/summary or the relevant thread page?
I'd really like to see another one of these group buy discounts organized in Canada for the 9G Elites. We should be able to get a good deal, especially if our MSRP is going to match the USA MSRP for the 9G Kuros as was recently affirmed by a Pioneer Canada rep.
Anyone interested in organizing a group buy please PM me and any Canadian Authorized Dealers PM me as well if you can offer any break on the MSRP can swing a great deal on a group buy.

If it's really true coupled with 5:5 these panels could be amazing if the processing is good as well5:5 pulldown on a PDP is completely worthless and un-natural. I've already commented on the 7x series LGs in that thread.
arunkandra 05-13-08, 09:01 AM That's a choice you would have to make on your own. If it was me, I would be fine with the regular Elites.
There are a few more things, but I cannot give any details.
That there is really a reason why Pioneer calls them "signature" series....
Any reason why you cannot give the details?
Now I`m starting to have second thoughts that I should wait until the reviews come out for the signature and the regular elites
5:5 pulldown on a PDP is completely worthless
It depends. Let's say you're watching a broadcast which switches between video and film mode all the time (this happens in real life). A good video processor will be able to detect that. And the film parts should ideally be shown with 2:2, 3:3, 4:4 or 5:5 pulldown while the video parts should ideally be shown with 60Hz or 120Hz. Now if a plasma is using 3:3 pulldown for movie content, it has a problem with such alternating broadcasts. Because the plasma would have to change refresh rates all the time between 72Hz and 60Hz. But if the plasma uses 120Hz all the time, this fits well for both movie and video content. So the video processing could switch between film mode and video mode in real time without having to change the refresh rate.
5:5 pulldown on a PDP is completely worthless and un-natural. I've already commented on the 7x series LGs in that thread.
can you explain the science behind that?
I thought 5:5 pulldown would be identical to 2:2 or 3:3 to the eye but with less chance of flicker
I thought only frame interpolation made film images unnatural
the 50" Elite at a MSRP of 5 grand is way to high.
good luck to Pioneer at this price. only $900 more for the 60" Elite.
what's the deal?

That is what 5:5 does and is totally un-natural. Will it smooth things out? Sure. Will the smoothness look natural? Not by a long shot.

what's the deal?The 151FD MSRP is 6500. 6500-5000 = 1500.
but AFAIK they all do interpolation to achieve 120Hz
do any just repeat each frame 5 times?
Panoneer 05-13-08, 09:23 AM Way to high for whom?
haha! pwned.

It's just as tsb sais: The unnatural look comes from interpolating intermediate images and not from simply repeating the same frame multiple times. The only disadvantage of repeating the same frame 5 times is that the panel must be driven a lot faster, so you'll likely lose color gradations, so there might be more dithering visible.
Of course it's possible that LG uses 5:5 in combination with interpolated intermediate images. That would produce the unnatural look you're talking about. But 5:5 with simple frame repeating does NOT look unnatural.
slavyan 05-13-08, 09:39 AM Did you also notice the sale price on the 5010FD from one of the site sponsors on this very page? Hint: they are having an 'Authorized Pioneer Sale'. ;)
No sales tax for out of state buyers (but the 2 years warranty from Costco is nice).
Yes, thanks. I know that these guys hare selling it much cheaper and they've earned their respect in these community. I was almost ready to buy old model from the one sponsor you mentioned. But extra year of warranty costs money and having 90 days to return product to the local warehouse is valuable to.
For the same spend of the Costco deal, you could get the 5010 with an extended 3 yr warranty from one of the more prominent sponsors. Even I am tempted.
I called most dealers and did not find any offers for 3-years warranty like you mentioned. but it's ok
However, here is my logic. I am still buying the great 8G Kuro for the great price with the great warranty and return policy. In a month or two old inventory would be sold so it's the last chance. If I don't like this TV (buzz, color:eek:, etc) I have 3 months to convince my wife to return this one and spend extra $$ for 151FD. And I don't need to gamble on the price right now.:)

Irwinroad 05-13-08, 09:51 AM I'm in Canada too and also I'd love to know more details about how the last group buy went down.
If it is going to be a level playing field for MSRP prices between the US & Canada then it absolutely makes more sense for Canadians to buy Elites in Canada since they come with a 3 year in home warranty!!
Now maybe border area US citizens will purchase Elites in Canada to take advantage of the extra year warranty.
Panoneer 05-13-08, 09:53 AM Elites in Canada ... come with a 3 year in home warranty!!
Whoozajiggawhat? I didn't know that. Got a link for that? That's cool.
Irwinroad 05-13-08, 10:14 AM Whoozajiggawhat? I didn't know that. Got a link for that? That's cool.
For warranty information call Pioneer's Customer Satisfaction Department
1-877-283-5901
I cannot find any warranty information on the Canadian website. It was easier
to call than wade through the website!!
Whoozajiggawhat? I didn't know that. Got a link for that? That's cool.
That's true. I just can't find the info on Pio Canada website but if you call an authorized reseller, he will confirm this.
Also, if you buy with a "premium" credit card, you might get one extra year of coverage for a total of 4 years!
But the three years warranty is only for Elite products (Elite AV receivers and Elite BR players also have the three years warranty).

luvnhateSony 05-13-08, 10:48 AM Hey D,
My dads in line for a new panel and is wanting to wait on these new Sony XBR8's. He almost bought my 110 before I returned it but felt like he needed that lcd pop.
Im trying to convince him of all the pros and cons but in the end he feels like the new led driven Sony will give him just as good of black levels as the 9g's and will ultimately save him more money on his electrical bill.
Save money on his electrical bill? probably, but as far as black levels do you happen to know if the XBR8's black levels will measure AS LOW as the 9g's? I couldnt find much info on these XBR8's but if I remember correctly I think you once said nothing will come close THIS YEAR regardless of technology.
Any reason why you cannot give the details?
I can't speak for anyone else, but:
Some of us have agreements in place with Pioneer... Either there has to be an announcement made by Pioneer first or we must have authorization to discuss specific new features, specs etc. If this is not followed, the relationship with Pioneer is at risk.

Should be interesting, but due to the low count of zones, I think it will perform similar to the the Samsung 81 series.

RGB LED tech will be intresting, but I would think that it would at least perform better than the 81. I guess its probably too soon to tell.
THANKS, D
timberwolf10014 05-13-08, 11:22 AM I do not know about hundreds, there might not be thousands, but there is at least one thousand KURO units available including floor models when looking at the 4 elite models and three Pure models that were available in 8G. There are hundreds of 1150's alone.
I was myopically looking at the 6010's and 150's ... but you are right. The chart shows a totally different pattern for the 5010's and 1150's. They clearly have ample supply left in inventory ;)
I'm in Canada, Toronto actually. I'm interested in the Pio 5020. Seems like the best bang for my buck in Pioneer 50" world. Anyone able to PM me a price or tentative price? I am eager to see this and how it competes against the Panny PZ800 and Sammy A650 and Sony W4100 competition I have had in mind... I'm hoping it will blow both out of the water, and if it does it would be worth the extra coin. And if it doesn't. God help us all!
What more are we expecting to learn from the Pioneer Road Show today?
We know the blacks will be deeper, Pioneer has already released MSRP info for most of the sets, are there lots of other features yet to be detailed? I haven't seen a full spec sheet for the 9Gs yet, is that going to be posted today?

Pioneerdude 05-13-08, 01:00 PM Those of us who hang the PDP on the wall use the CC & Tuner for TV along with HMG to feed programing to the set. For me the lack of a cc slot (and tuner in the Signature series) is a net minus.
I'm surprised Pioneer didn't learn that lesson from the 2007 1080P "Monitor" -FHD-1 I believe it was.
Understand this will be a true integartors piece.

Anybody know what the CI slot is?
Added: I see two things, a CI slot and a CA Card. Are either of those things cable card related? Could they have put it back in at the last minute? I'd be thrilled if it was.
Also, it looks like only 3 HDMI ports this years. That's surprising that they would drop one.

It's nothing like that. It's a decoder card for encrypted OTA channels which is pretty much worthless, in the UK at least.
Thanks, Andrew. I misunderstood enator's link. I still wish Pioneer had included a cable card slot - preferably 2-way, but if not, a basic one.

What would be the recommended bracket to wall mount the 60"? My current stand won't take this.

HDpeeT so I was working for you and called about 40 dealers nationwide (mostly Elite) trying to find out if they had pricing or any more details than me. 60 inch is 51,2 kg or 112lbs. Does this include the stand and the speakers??!?!?! I was hoping the 9G's were alot lighter.

loopup2u 05-13-08, 03:21 PM I know this is a outside the realm of Plasma Display's, but anyone who is in the know or can reflect on past Pioneer actions and history, perhaps can answer this. Do you think all of the product information that we saw in the release last week will be the only one we see for a while, or could more product information be released this week? I was excited to learn about the new Blu-Ray players, but from what I have gathered Pioneer also plans to release a 2.0 complient player this year also. I am eager to learn of this player and possible release time frame. Also, any of you expect Pioneer to release offical detailed specifications of the products that where recently unvailed?

You mention that you'd like to get the BDP-51, I was reading some info on the BDP-51 on Engadget.
Pioneer engineers developed unique performance settings in both players to ensure subtle details, vivid colors and deep shadows are accurately reproduced when shown on KURO displays. When selecting the "Pioneer PDP" in the video adjust mode, the new players will output the appropriate signal to a connected KURO and deliver the best possible image possible for viewers.
Looks like the player to get if you own a Kuro. I'm wondering if you have any comments on this player. I was looking at a PS3 until I read this on Engadget. I have a 5080.:) I had to save abit longer to get it. But I wanted one of the best PDP's made and it was well worth it:D. Looks like I'll be doing the same for this player.

It's nearly 4am here in Bangkok so I'm forcing myself to go to bed and will have to wait until morning .... OK, noon ... to awaken to new juicy facts about the Pio toys. You know, I'm not really a Pio fan boy ... hell, I'd even buy from the devil if he had the best of the best.

I'd like any info that helps me differentiate and decide between 9G Elite and Signature - specifically any info on features - yes, some info is already available. The info released is that the signature will not have a tuner, speakers, but will be hand-built (to an extent, obviously) and will have much stricter QC. They also will be able to be calibrated remotely. There isn't much info on that feature, and all of what there is is on this thread. I'm not sure if any other info is out, but I tried to help you the best I could
The add was put together months ago. It was simply wrong. It was in our system at first, for the lower number. Then, bang-back up to the correct MSRP. The cost was enticing me at the lower # for sure.. Ah well, the accom page should update soon enough. I'm getting a 151. BTW, all 150's flipped disco last Friday (for Tweeter anyway).
Did Tweeter have the msrp of $5999 on the Pro-151fd wrong, or were they just asked to pull the ad so they would not sabotage pioneers efforts to move the last bit of 8g inventory at much higher pricing? Personally, I think the latter..
That wasn't necessary. BTW, i've NEVER seen a Pioneer spiff on plasma from Pioneer.

You know, I think folks jumped the gun in ASSUMING (me included) that the
REGULAR price at Tweeters is the MSRP. Okay, maybe we were right, but
still, can we honestly make such assumptions? It doesn't say MSRP, it just
says Regular Price (ie: "our regular price").
And... by the way... Pioneer's site never said $5999 for 151 and such. I
am sorry, but there's no typo to begin with... so I think the subject should
be left alone. We all goofed and made assumptions...
Does anyone know if Robert is going to be posting from the road show today?
ROMAN O 05-13-08, 07:36 PM He said he would do his best. Hes very trustworthy.
rydenfan 05-13-08, 07:44 PM My local Sound Advice (Tweeter owned) said that they accidentally sent out the wrong price on their flyer but that they would honor the price for those who received the flyer. I am lucky number 13 in the state of Florida to pre-order it :) I figured I would go ahead and do this until the forum sponsors know where they can offer it.

One feature I'm still holding out hope for, is picture presets that are independent per input (e.g. different Pure mode settings for each input). I know D-Nice has said this won't happen, but it just feels wrong for such high-end TVs not to be able to do this seemingly simple thing.

Well, I'm not a calibrator, I wouldn't want to brick the darn thing:o.
You won't brick your display, those are just two extra memories per input (similar Controls to what you are using now, plus a few more). I can assure you that Pioneer would rather have you using the ISF Memories than the SM.
I'm not sure where that myth began but it's simply not true.
I suppose you could fire up HyperTerminal and start randomly sending commands...

Would that be different ISF Day and ISF Night settings for each input?http://forum.blu-ray.com/images/smilies/imported/hyper.gif
Yes, 2 Per Input.. :D
Some are using the Day for SD material, Night for HD (or switched) for one input.
I have had requests to add the ability for ControlCAL to import/export each Mode's (Day/Night) Control Values..
This of course could allow someone (D-Nice? :D) to offer settings for these ISF Modes that others could just Import into their Display (enabling the ISF Modes) though this doesn't mean your Display is Calibrated.. :D Also, this is not the primary reason to offer this feature but it could be used for this.

Ken Ross 05-13-08, 08:41 PM Anybody know what the CI slot is?
Added: I see two things, a CI slot and a CA Card. Are either of those things cable card related? Could they have put it back in at the last minute? I'd be thrilled if it was.
Also, it looks like only 3 HDMI ports this years. That's surprising that they would drop one.
Vashti, keep in mind these are European models, so they may have no relationship to U.S. models from a 'slot perspective'.

Isn't "Extreme" here just a marketing tool? All information to date is that the 9G plasmas will not have the true "extreme" (infinite) contrast yet--that will be for 10G or later...
Any "in the know" folks want to comment? D-nice?

- This is one of the first pictures that I've seen that has a decent amount of glare. I'm thinking of buying a 9G 60" Elite and am a little concerned about reflection and glare. I currently have a JVC D-ILA and don't have an issue with glare because it's a matte screen. I can close the blinds to my windows and darken the room, but I do have a 125 gallon fish tank behind my couch. Do you think I would have a problem with reflection? I would hate having to have turn it off all the time.
Any news on anti-glare or finish on the 9G?

You can see that D-Nice is right. Pioneer doesn't advertise with contrast ratios anymore as he has said. I don't believe it should mean the "infinite" contrast but an extreme contrast! :D:D:D:D

- That sucks. There's no anti-glare at all on the 9G? I can turn off the fish tank for movie viewing, but it's a nice ambient light. Before anyone wonders why I don't move it, it's actually built into the wall. I bought the house this way. :)
LOL. I just noticed you can see the pause bar on my TV in the reflection.

- Another quick question. What are those side "wings" next to the bezel. I see they're on the Elite, but not the normal Kuro.
loopup2u 05-13-08, 09:48 PM Speakers
RobertR1 05-13-08, 09:48 PM Those are speakers. On the Elites they're mounted on the side vs bottom on the regular series.
p59teitel 05-13-08, 09:48 PM - Another quick question. What are those side "wings" next to the bezel. I see they're on the Elite, but not the normal Kuro.
Those are the speakers, which are side-mounted on the Elites.
Davewise 05-13-08, 09:49 PM I would assume those are the detachable speakers since (from what I've read) the Elite has the speakers on the sides and the regular Kuro has it on the bottom.
Davewise 05-13-08, 09:50 PM I see I'm not the only one watching this thread somewhat anxiously for more info ;)
tokerblue 05-13-08, 09:58 PM LOL. Thanks for the confirmationX4. I thought they were speakers, but the 2 vs. 1 threw me off. I know I'll be taking them off ASAP. My 1st gen JVC D-ILA was nice for the last 3.5 years, but I'm on my 7th bulb now and I'm not buying a new one once my extended warranty is done.
Now I just have to wait until my local Magnolia gets it in stock.
LTCJack 05-13-08, 10:09 PM My local Sound Advice (Tweeter owned) said that they accidentally sent out the wrong price on their flyer but that they would honor the price for those who received the flyer. I am lucky number 13 in the state of Florida to pre-order it :) I figured I would go ahead and do this until the forum sponsors know where they can offer it.
I still don't think it's a great deal even with $600 off of regular price of $5999. Once you add in sales tax and delivery you are right back up at $6000.
That is nothing special. the sponsors will beat that deal.
I will just get a 6020 for 4 grand delivered.
timberwolf10014 05-13-08, 10:11 PM I will just get a 6020 for 4 grand delivered.
Me too, please :D
LTCJack 05-13-08, 10:12 PM Anyway, in this economy people are not going to line up to pay $6500 for an Elite Plasma. If they were, Pioneer wouldn't be in the position it is in and "crying Uncle" right now. Pioneer will have to get aggressive to move its units, and that means lowering prices and subsidizing the sales.
It just means it is now a discontinued item. No more coming in. It changes the way it gets sold. Basically, it means it can cost less for a consumer. As far as being "forced" to honor a mistake. No. It's up to the individual sales person. It's good for business to do what you can to keep clients happy. Don't come in guns blaze'n though. I have more bricklayer in me than sales. heh heh..
what does flipped disco mean?
will Tweeter be forced to honor that price on the Pro's.
LTCJack 05-13-08, 10:27 PM what does flipped disco mean?
will Tweeter be forced to honor that price on the Pro's.
Of course they will honor the price.. Good God, Tweeter is getting crushed by Best Buy in this marketplace, and is closing stores, and restructuring. They need all the sales they can get. If they hit a single or double, they still are on base, and then they get to sell what they really want...accessories and installation services. Would you believe that they told me they wanted $500 just to mount the 6020 that I will buy from Axxis Audio. Shoot, even Best Buy will only charge $250. $500.00!!! C'mon. me and my neighbor will do it for free and it will only cost me a 6 pack of Guinness.
Tweeter discounts all the time because they have to discount to compete with Best Buy.
Best Buy has the better locations, the better retail model, and dominates them the way the Penguins dominate the Flyers.
Let's go Pens...
rydenfan 05-13-08, 10:29 PM LTCJack, how about you stick to the forum rules and only discuss MSRP? I also buy PLENTY of AV gear and I really dont think I need you deciding for me what is or is not a good deal, but thanks for the concern.

Congrats, rydenfan. I'm told I'm number 3 in the Carolinas with Tweeter, so hopefully that'll count for something when the first shipments start flowing.
The fact that they honored your original flyer is testimony to the fact that they do pay a lot of attention to customer satisfaction. I've no doubt they will honor my deal too.

NanoRish 05-14-08, 12:42 AM Roman, looking forward to pricing on both Elites and Non-Elites 9G. Do you think the pricing for 9G 50 inch non-Elite will be less than whats being advertized right now for 8G 50 inch non-Elites. I am very tempted to get 9G 60 inch Elite for Family room and a 50 inch non-Elite for master bedroom.
Will be cancelling my Tweeter order as soon I get the pricing from Forum Sponsors. Hope Santa comes early!!
russwong 05-14-08, 01:05 AM As I mentioned before and it appears to be confirmed, the Signature Series pricing will be the same as their Elite counterparts.

That's good to hear. I was hoping since they excluded the speakers and a tuner that it would come out to about the same cost of a elite.
russwong 05-14-08, 01:29 AM Does anyone want to PM me the price they heard for the 5020FD?
Why don't you PM Roman O directly yourself? He PM'd me back pretty quickly.
Has Pioneer indicated how much of each line they are going to produce this year? Seeing as how we won't see any more 768p panels, I assume they will have more resources to put towards 1080p Elites, so, what proportion of the sets are going to be Elite vs. Non and Signature?
50% Non-Elite
30% Elite
20% Signature
That's my guess, but obviously I have no idea what Pio's numbers are.
ylnad123 05-14-08, 01:42 AM Does anyone know the difference between the networking on the elite and the non elite? It seems to be the only thing right now that is stopping me from getting the non elite.

Yes. We have a good idea about these as well now :)
dssturbo1 05-14-08, 02:44 AM If that is truly the case ... why are they honoring the "wrong" MSRP and still giving a discount to it???
All companies I know, stand by the policy of, "We are not responsible for typos" Makes me go Hmmmmmmmm?!?!?!?
because they will still be making plenty of profit at the wrong ad price and they get people committed to buying from them thinking they got a great deal, hmmmmm so was it a mistake or actually a good sales ploy???????
since they can easily sell it at that and be quite happy.
And a smart avs buyer would get it from an avs sponsor and save alot more money anyway.
dssturbo1 05-14-08, 03:25 AM If any of those members see this post, I'd love to know where they ended up buying their displays. -Coggs

All you people that want a vendor to PM you with a price, should probably instead PM the sellers, and not make mention of it here. It's really borderline of breaking the forum rules by having so many people making public posts asking to have people who are vendors to PM them with their pricing on products.

russ is right they should be pretty tight supply, especially when first released this fall. Not just hand selected, all of the new 9G models will still be the top of the class in the plasma field this year, plus alot of custom installers will be wanting the 60" 151 and 141 since there is no more fuji to sell to their higher end customer base. There were people waiting 2+ months to get the Pro150FD and the 151/141 with improvements and $1k less msrp should equal a tight supply well into 2009.

You are correct. I mentioned it before many times.
Do you know if the non-elite kuro's are supposed to have a 2-year warranty in Canada? BB has it listed as one, but they're often wrong, or does the non-elite have 1 while the elite's have 3?
-Coggs
rberger 05-14-08, 06:02 AM It's a good thing so many of us want to buy a 9G because Pioneer is going through a rough patch financially.
Pioneer stock price dropped 18% last night in Tokyo after the company forecast a net loss of 19 billion yen ($181 million) in the year to March 2009, primarily due to restructuring costs. Sharp bought a 14% stake in Pioneer last September.
Does anyone know for sure if a Pio bought in the US, and shipped to Canada will still have a valid warranty or not? I've been looking around and haven't been able to find anything definitive one way or the other.
Thanks in advance,
-Coggs

Obviously Pio is not taking your advise. I think their problem has been more bad marketing than price per se. They don't intend to sell to the masses but instead to a smaller group who are willing to pay premium price for premium quality ... a'la BMW which sells a lot less cars than Ford and Chevy.
HerbalEd 05-14-08, 06:38 AM I've always been somewhat annoyed by the "no pricing talk" policy around here, but that type of attitude certainly isn't going to get you very far around here.
This policy is for a specific purpose and is part of why AVS works so well and is so successful. I've seen forums where price talk and comparisons become so prolific that it dilutes out all other conversation ... and, worse, can turn into an advertising campaign by forum members who are in the biz and have a financial interest. Yes, it's a frustrating rule sometimes, but a necessary one.

Plus it's a pain to scroll through all these PM requests that add nothing to the topic at hand. It's very easy to click on the members name and send them a quick PM, so why not do so and show some good forum etiquette.

The Kuros have a 1 year warranty, and the Elite Kuros have a 3 year warranty in Canada.
drkddell 05-14-08, 08:25 AM From Pioneer's press release on the 7th:
"Pioneer engineers developed unique performance settings in both players to ensure subtle details, vivid colors and deep shadows are accurately reproduced when shown on KURO displays. When selecting the “Pioneer PDP” in the video adjust mode, the new players will output the appropriate signal to a connected KURO and deliver the best possible image possible for viewers. "
Does anyone know if this is simply setting a 1080p24 output or if there is some additional benefit to having a completely "Elite" system.
Though I hate to say it, it smells like pure marketing hype...

The warranty will still be valid and you will get service as long as you bring your TV to an authorized service center in the US. You will not get service in Canada.
Irwinroad 05-14-08, 09:35 AM Will the Signature Series have any more inputs?

David Susilo 05-14-08, 09:47 AM don't know much about the networking but from what I saw the other day (elite and non elite being put next to each other playing PotC 3, the scene with lots of fog) I can see a LOT more details on the Elite version.

cwest54 05-14-08, 10:11 AM They are indeed detachable speakers. In fact, out of the box the only accessory already attached is the panel stand; the speakers are not yet attached. They are in their own separate box inside the main box that you can set aside if you don't plan on using them.
I would assume those are the detachable speakers since (from what I've read) the Elite has the speakers on the sides and the regular Kuro has it on the bottom.

No kidding! I've been waiting for my Pro-150FD since January. My Digital Bits Power Buy was delayed due to the HDMI receiver and power supply fixes in the 8Gs. The good news is that it is now so late that they've offered an automatic upgrade to a 151 for all those still waiting, plus cash back to compensate for the price drop. So I guess I can wait a little longer. :) Allegedly I'm supposed to be getting one from the first batch of 9Gs, but we'll see.

Wow. I guess it all depends on your vendor. Robert, our sponsor out of Value Electronics in NY delivered a 150 to my wife's office with less than a week's notice. He provided expert set up and quick delivery all at a fair price. Kudos for the Kuro dealer from me :):)

I purchased my 150 from Tweeter in Chicago. They were very competitve on pricing - besting about any B & M. I am not surprised by reports of units being sold even BELOW the mistated MSRP.
Pioneerdude 05-14-08, 10:58 AM Are we going to find out what are the confirmed exact dates for the releases of 9G Elites and non-Elites this week at the Roadshow? Hoping to get one by end of June.
You will see dates released as soon as end of week, as the Roadshow is now ending. You will also see set pricing released very soon. Pioneer has released some price information to dealers but keep in mind since these units are not even in the US yet, so nothing is set in stone. Also keep in mind that the dates Pioneer will be giving are not always the most accurate and that supplies will be very limited since the demand is really high for this new 9G unit. The end of June could happen but I would not hold my breath on it.
ylnad123 05-14-08, 10:59 AM anyone else think that the tweeter thing really wasn't a mistake? It seems like they just wanted to have an excuse to sell the tv for cheaper than any other B & M.

I think they can sell it at whatever price they want ... but could be wrong. Anyway, if they wanted to strategically impress their customers, lowering their price on purpose would have been much better marketing strategy than lowering it by mistake. Either way, they're doing the right thing ... and are not ... at least in this situation ... the corporate devils that some on this thread assume than all such companies are.
Yes, there are many bad companies out there ... but there are a lot of good ones too. I'm ever surprised ... and annoyed ... at how quickly some people immediately suppose the worst with no evidence to justify their assumptions.
cwest54 05-14-08, 11:44 AM Tweeter (Boston) just told me this morning that they will be receiving shipment of the 9G Elites as soon as the beginning of June. Are you able to confirm that?
PDP panels were shipped from Japan last month. 9G assembly in Cali has already started. What do you mean units aren't even in the US yet????
hfriedman 05-14-08, 11:48 AM That is interesting. I went to my Tweeter yesterday and their computer has no delivery dates.
cwest54 05-14-08, 11:55 AM This rep appeared to have information that was not officially logged in their system. I thought I had misheard him, so I asked him to repeat what he said. I am still skeptical, and that is why I am asking D-Nice if he is able to confirm this.

hfriedman 05-14-08, 12:00 PM I would not trust any B&M unless they can show deliver dates to their warehouse in the computer. Tweeter is hurting so bad they need to generate sales anyway they can.
My dealer wanted a 25% deposit on a new 9G enough though all the other stores are taking 20%.
russwong 05-14-08, 12:03 PM Not sure where your information is coming from, but the elite roadshow just started today, unless you are counting registration and dinner. Also, the pricing information is set already. Also, as D-Nice mentioned, assembly and distribution is in CA and now it's a matter of allocation and delivery. However, supplies will be limited in June. "Open stock" is probably not likely till July. Initial orders from Elite dealers will be placed tomorrow and I think allocations will happen at the end of the month.

Set pricing has been released by Pioneer as I mentioned a couple of pages back.
cwest54 05-14-08, 12:21 PM Thank you for outlining the process here. I take it that while a June delivery is still possible, I should remain skeptical about an early June date.

Look for about the third or fourth week of June for the first delivery of the new units.
Robert must be busy. We're still waiting on his impressions :).

As for availability of 151FD, does this mean that supplies will be limited in June, but open up and be readily available in July? Is that what "Open Stock" means? Also, are we allowed to ask what dealer cost is on the 151FD? I mean, just like car shopping, I'd like to know what the item cost the retailer, before I figure what a fair price is.

That unit will be in very high demand.
And please don't take this the wrong way, but no dealer would be stupid enough to post dealer pricing on an internet chat board.
AlexInvision 05-14-08, 01:07 PM The Pricing from Pioneer is out but, the distributor pricing is still in the works. As I do appreciate all of the PM's, I will get back to guys on them when Invisions pricing is set and ready to go. So if I have not returned your PM's yet that is why. Not to much longer to wait though.:)
russwong 05-14-08, 01:14 PM 151's will be in short supply for a while. You can ask what the dealer cost is, but I doubt anyone will tell you and if they do, are you sure they are telling you the truth. Keep in mind people they are in the business to make money and consumers like us make it very difficult for them. We continue to demand more for much much less pricing and often times I'm not sure what is fair either.
Anyways, just my thought...

Fargus777 05-14-08, 01:21 PM So there is MSRP, dealer cost AND distributor cost? Does the Distributor get the cheapest price, then the dealer buys from them at a little higher? I just assumed there was only MSRP and dealer cost, I had never thought about a distributor cost before.
ROMAN O 05-14-08, 01:24 PM There is Manufacturer cost and Distributor cost, simple, but lets stay on topic again please :)

You havent returned my PM :(
darthemma 05-14-08, 01:33 PM Is it really worth the extra money to get the Elite? I mean, I think I'm already stretching to get a Pioneer (I was going to go Panasonic and still might), but I don't want to regret going a little more to get the "right" tv. I don't have room to fit a tv with side speakers, so I'd have to somehow mount the speakers to the wall. My husband does not wan to use the HT receiver to just watch tv. I may have to get a Harmony One for him. Decisions desisions.
I can't even find a store in my area to view a Pioneer plasma, so I'm relying on the discussions here to help me decide. Thanks.
hfriedman 05-14-08, 01:35 PM You havent returned my PM :(
Geez, give the guy a break. He will get back to all of you.
Product is not even available yet.
russwong 05-14-08, 02:00 PM It's a personal choice. There have been a number of non-elite buyers who have switched to elite and no swear by them. I think it was PARASITE who was one of the users. He might be able to give you some info. There are also some threads that show the exact feature differences for the 7G and 8G elite vs non-elite. Still waiting for the 9G list.
Obviously, if you can't afford it, the non-elites are good sets. The Elites are the best, but it might not matter to you. However your comment about not regretting it is a personality question you have to answer. I'm the type of person who wants the best, but I just want it for the best price. If you get it for the best possible price, then you can be happy and not regret it.
Obviously, there is going to be a group of people who want to make themselves feel better either way. i.e. people who want to make the people who bought Elite's feel bad by saying they are paying more for nothing and then there are Elite people who want to make people feel bad about not having enough money to buy the elite. They are all idiots.
Buy what you will be happy with for the best price. I do believe there is value in the Elite line over the non-elite and I myself own 2 Elites. I just got them for a great price.
Good luck!

Wow,
I am just like you!:)
I am hoping the Elite 60" MSRP will drop at least 20% by the time it ships. That's how much I am willing to pay. The current MSRP is just too much ca$h.
Pioneer is fantastic, but man they are expensive. :(
Well said Russ.
I'm struggling with that decision myself, and like you, I'm the type of person who wants the best at a good price. There are definitely some REAL benefits of going with an Elite, but the difference in cost is considerable. Personally, I think I would end up second guessing myself if I went the Non-Elite route to save a few (more than a few) bucks.
Time will tell, but, I think by September/October I will be the proud owner of a 120 lb baby Elite.
makaveli7x7 05-14-08, 02:11 PM hmm so this signature series is interesting. ive been thinking since it has no speakers how would one go about bringing an audio signal from your cable box to a reciever?
better explained- the cable box only has one hdmi i assume, and it would go to the tv
so im thinking this is "strictly" just a monitor then?
also assuming its "just" a monitor, this would somewhat explain why you would have "IP" calibration, apposed to having someone come out to do it.
if it is strictly a monitor that certainly puts a twist on things
Different regions show different information.
That is interesting. I went to my Tweeter yesterday and their computer has no delivery dates.
