View Full Version : Cause of non-playing XviD movies found, but help still needed!

I found that in every case of an XviD not playing on my PS3, the audio track was the cause.

I've had about 20 XviD files play, and 5-6 XviD files not play. If I stripped out the audio using VirtualDub, all non-playing videos will play. If I then re-encode the audio using LAME MP3 CBR 128/48kHz/16-bit/Stereo, I get audio that works.

I know it's not VD just repacking the AVI because if I use direct stream copy for both audio and video, the file fails to play.

So...

I know what I need to do (re-encode audio), but I don't know the right way to go about it. Every time I try, my audio is instantly out of sync. What can I do to re-encode my audio and avoid syncing issues?
