TRT 05-08-08, 07:23 PM Anyone know of a dealer in the SF Bay Area who has the JVC RS2 projector on display?I would e-mail JVC and ask them. Call if you have time. I bet they can give you a really short list of well done demo suites featuring the RS2! rsbeck 05-08-08, 07:57 PM Excellent suggestion -- thanks! There is an RS1 demo room at Magnolia Hi-Fi right next to Valley Fair Mail and Santana Row. It is being displayed on a DNP Supernova screen. Don Giberson 05-10-08, 03:24 PM I was in there last night looking at the setup. In my opinion, the screen does a poor job representing the image capabilities of the RS1. The bulb has approximately 1400 hours on it. With the brightness set at the midpoint, the image starts to look flat and the black level is raised to a point that diminishes the excellent black level capability of the RS1. Just my 2 cents. Definitely worth checking out. Good munchies across the street down in Santana Row. rsbeck 05-12-08, 04:10 PM Update: Just spoke to Magnolia Hifi in Santa Rosa -- they were just putting the finishing touches on a HD100 they were installing in their demo room with a 130" wide CineCurve screen. So, I will make my way up there in the next few days to take a look! Jive Turkey 05-12-08, 08:36 PM I was in there last night looking at the setup. They used to have both that projector and a Pearl installed, and if they ever sold one of them it wasn't due to presentation. Drab colors and washed out picture every time I went in. |
