Yes I have read both threads directly related to the 1080p 6188, but I have 3 questions that I can not find a defenitive answer:
1. When you calibrate the set...Do you have to calibrate each input or are the settings in the SM global?
2. Seems I can not get a bright enough picture and dark scenes you can barley see could this be realted to a marginal bulb? I currently have 750 hours on the bulb.
3. If I do a "factory reset" I relaize this will reset the bulb life, but will this also set all the settings in the SM back to default?

Thanks

You calibrate each interface separatly since the source of the input on each interface is different. And the Samsung will also save the picture size setting for each received resolution received on a single interface.
For example
Save calibration settings sepaatly for your DVD on HDMI1 and for your cable box on HDMI2.
And on HDMI2 set your picture size setting separatly when receiving 480p and when receiving 1080i from your cable boc
