Is there any way to record in a standard resolution on the Canon HG10, and not in High Definition? If so, how? Haven't found any info about that in the manual.
Thanks

Thanks warriorking 05-09-08, 10:31 AM No, you can only change the recording times from 5 to 15 hours of footage which will effect picture quality...However its real easy to convert the footage to standard DVD Mpeg 2 playback, Pinnacle or most any editing programs can do it quit easily....However you are degrading the quality of the footage, the difference is night and day when viewed on the big screen....I edit my footage with pinnacle and burn it to a DVD making a AVCHD disc, that way I loose none of the picture quality, I then insert it in my PS3 and my videos look simply stunning.....The only drawback to AVCHD is if you intend to edit your footage in its true form you need a robust system in order to do so, at least a Core 2 Duo 2.4 or better ..... Gzusfish 05-09-08, 11:11 AM I have tried converting it, but the video looks like you're looking through Venecian blinds and is jumpy. I believe I used a Microsoft program to convert it. I do have Core 2 Duo, but it's 1.83 ghz warriorking 05-09-08, 02:23 PM Did you try the included Corel software that came with the HG10, it is limited on how much editing you are capable of, but it may do a better job at converting your footage to DVD......
