Hi all, Hope someone can help

I recently purchase the WD-73732 as a floor model at a local electronics store. I love how rear projection technology has gone so advance. They gave me new bulbs so it was worth the $1400. Here's my situation.

When i hook up my HD antenna to my coax ant input, it allows me to watch HD/DTV channels crisp and clear. I have a Time Warner cablebox i recently got and it looks horrible so i upgraded it to HD(1080i) Cable instead. The cable box gave me the option to change the aspect ration to 16:9, 1080i normal stretch mode.
Now on my Mitsubishi, when i hit the INFO button it shows that i'm still on
480i mode. I tried changing the FORMAT (standard, stretch, stretch plus, zoom) but they're all 480i. I check the SETUP OPTIONS and NETCOMMAND (Mitsubishi's fancy way to discribe their options menu) but nothing that would allow me to change it to 1080i/p. When i switch my input to my HD antenna, i can view HD channels perfectly fine so i know thru the coax it's giving me HD. What am i missing or doing wrong...

HELLPPP!!!.. it's driving me nuts..
any input is greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance :-)

What type of connection are you using to connect the cable box to the TV?

Your choices are:
RF Coax (coax cable/antenna connector, ie. ch.3)
Composite (yellow)
S-Video (black)
Component (red/green/blue)
DVI (large plug)
HDMI (small plug)

The cablebox only sends HD signals via Component/DVI/HDMI outputs to your TV, NOT via RF.

RF Coax (coax cable/antenna connector, ie. ch.3)It is sort of a trick question! ;)

The first three cables listed are only capable of 480i. Period!

Your connection would have to be one of the latter three types to transfer ANY resolution greater than 480i.

aahh.. that sheds so much light.. thanks guys..

So i would need to use the HDMI cable then. I'll try that tonight and see

What i figured was... while using my HD antenna with coax straight into my TV input ANT2.. it picked up the Digital Channels as well as HD channels.. so i figured.. hell. that means it's taking HD. So I hooked up the Coax from the Cable box directly into my TV input ANT1 thinking this would work...

Where did you guys find this info.. I mean.. i looked everywhere in the manual...

Where did you guys find this info.It is common knowledge for people who have been involved in this stuff for any length of time ... just part of the knowledge base.

Now you know too! ;)

Yup, you got that right but only because of you guys.. i can't wait to go home and try it out..

I've been on the phone with Time warner the pass week to no avail. I mean, I told them my entire setup and still they weren't able to assist me.. believe or not.. the customer representative got frustrated cause they couldn't resolve it... and all they needed to say was.. Dude! try other connection options.. o well

Thanks guys for your help and especially quick response!
