OK, looked around and cannot find anything here so far.
I suddenly am not getting 5.1 dts audio from my BH100 during movies.
I just played the Simpsons movie and all of the pre-movie sound works and th decoder light shows I am getting he dts 5.1 but as soon as the movie plays there is no sound. I can go into the BH100 and switch it off of DTS to he non-DTS and then I get sounds (crappy 2 channel).
This has happened for lots of movies lately. I am woonfering if it is my Sony audio equip, but since I get sound from it during the previews and the lights indicate it is decoding the signal and if I switch the output of the BH100 to 2 channel it works I am thinking it must be the BH100. I am using the co-ax output not the optical, but I tried it both ways.
I just updated the firmware and really thought that was going to fic it but it didn't.
Why does multiple titles play a mix of DTS adn 2 channel audio in the preview / menus but puke out during the main movies?
Anyone got anything for me? Please take a guess - this has been going on for months and I just cannot take it anymore.

So the DTS Previews work in DTS? If so I'm unsure. I would suggest trying a new cable or check your Amp settings but if DTS is working.
You could "I suppose" reset the Amp and BH100 to Factory Defaults.

Thanks for the ideas. I rule out the cable as I've tried it via the coax that was always working and I also tried it through the optical cable, which works just fine with my xbox, so I think the cable is fine.
Also if the cable was bad why would tghe DTS trailers work and the feature not?
What could it be that makes just the feature not work?

I don't think it would. I was clutching at straws, sorry.
It's worth trying a factory reset though.

It'll have something to do with the fact that the movies are actually in DTS-HD MA, from which the player has to extract the 1.5 mbps legacy DTS core; and the trailers etc are probably in DD transcoded by the player to DTS. The Simpsons Movie is definitely in DTS-HD MA. So the BH100 is having some trouble with the DTS-HD MA core extraction.
Have you successfully played The Simpsons Movie in the past? More and more movies are now coming out with DTS-HD MA soundtracks so that may be why you're noticing the problem now.

Good point Peter. I thought others may have some idea what was causing it.
Have you tried a DVD with DTS? Or a HD-DVD/BD with DTS (not DTS-HD)? Presuming you have one of those. Many Paramounts HD-DVDs/BDs have DTS and DD5.1.

Thanks fellas, I appreciate the help.
Peterjcat sounds like you are on to something. This was the first time I tried playing the Simpsons Movie so I can't verify if that changed on me or not, BUT I can say with certainty that I had no problems for awhile (around the time of the first firmware update) then steadily this exact same thing has been occuring with more frequency with more and more movies as time goes by, so your idea about DTS-HD MA soundtracks seems to make sense.
That being said whats the fix? I mean there are a plenty people here that have this unit - I cannot beleive that they are accepting this issues quietly or not renting any newer Blu-Ray titles with DTS-HD MA soundtracks.

I've farted around and Ice Age 2 which lists just DTS HD 5.1 for audio dosn;t work, but 300 which lists Dolby TrueHD 5.1 and Dolby Digital 5.1 does work.

Perform a factory reset then reinstall the firmware, this should bring the audio back. Sometimes this happens after a firmware update.
