I recently ordered a hdmi splitter off ebay, took a risk, it was coming from tokyo, few reviews I could find for them said it worked perfectly fine.

Received it the other day, it was tiny like a cell phone, it did not come with a 5 volt supply but I had one anyway. Regardless, just want to say it was only 35 dollars and works perfectly so far. Passing 1080/24, very happy with it. The next best prices for an hdmi splitter were around 60 dollars.

I did the dance with cheap HDMI equipment. In fact I still do from time to time. The allure of the low price keeps attracting me, like a moth to the light. Unfortunately, I've seen less than stellar performance from the low end HDMI gear. Sure, it "can" work and probably does, even more than 50% of the time. I can't afford to use stuff that usually works. When I need it to work first time, every time, I buy my HDMI switching gear from Gefen or Key Digital. And yes, they cost a bit more, but they always do the job.
