If you like the Heinekin mini-kegs and want a custom solution to
(partially) free them from the confines of your refrigerator, then you might want
to take a look at this Krups dispenser-cooler.

It ain't cheap, nor will it totally free your refrigerator of the minikegs
(prechill is almost mandatory with this unit) but it is cool.

Enjoy.

I saw these the other day at Kohls. Didn't check the price.

Which beer companies make the mini-kegs? I have a Heinekin one at home, but haven't seen any other beer in the mini-kegs.

I've seen a LOT of 5 liter mini kegs at my local liquor store, most of which are from German/Belgium manufacturers:

Heinekin, though, seems to be the only one with 'built in' carbonation. All the other mini kegs require a separate tapper kit, and use separate CO2 cartridges to dispense the beer...

I got my Beertender at Bed, Bath and Beyond, but I'm sure they sell them all over the place. You're pretty much stuck with Heineken products. There are a couple 'flavors' sold overseas that work in the beertender but they are also Heineken brands. I wish they would sell them here as well.

There is a Beertender-like holder/cooler unit I saw that used CO2 for all those other minikegs mentioned. It was about the same price, but I just don't want to mess with the added hassle so I didn't go that route.

The Beertender is just a convenient way to store/serve small amounts of tap beer that lends an ambiance to the minikegs missing without it.

Enjoy.

Resurrecting this thread to mention that I just came across one of these at Linens and Things this morning. Open box, last one. It's whatever model has the LED display for keg level and relative temperature, like the image in the OP (not a digital display).

Regular $280 for $80.

If they interest you, you may want to pop in while their liquidating (pun intended) everything and see what's around.

I'd love a mini keg dispenser, but the thought of just drinking Heinekin repulses me

Oh, you can't make a comment like that without telling us what you would prefer to drink!
