Maybe Im missing something but after scanning the manual I dont find anywhere that tells me how I can I can use the remote, punch in a number slot thats holding the disk I want and then select it, it seems I have to use the next disk feature which is a pain, anyone know if from the remote I can punch in the disk slot and have the unit access the disk in that slot?

Check page 51 of your manual. I am not sure if that answers your question but it is worth a try.

the manual is confusing as all hell, I simply want to be able to jump to any disk by using the number pad on the remote not having to turn on the tv and use the navigator, oh and another thing, there are two lines in the navigator screen that allows text to be input but we can only access and input text on the first line for some reason we cant tab or jump to the line below to add more text such as the artist of the cd, any ideas from anyone as to how we can access that second line in the middle column?
