Just wanted to know if anyone has found problems with Denon newest Flagship DVD player.

I have found someone with the same probelm his email is belowHe mentions the same problems. I have notice the issues on mine since 12months from new.

Problem: 1st you Turn the DVD on from mains or standby. Then place your DVD into the tray and press play.

Outcome: Nothing happens when you press play (Or sometimes it will play )

Solution: Turn the DVD Off/On or Press the DVD stop button twice and press play again then all works.

This problem comes and goes and sometimes you can have a good week/month and then other times you come across this problem.

I have written the Denon.co.uk & emailed & faxed with only one reply where they sent me a new firmware, but this has not solve the problem.

Copy of email below:
I have a Denon DVD A1XVA that has persistently given me problems.
Will play CD's/DVD's .Sometimes completely new discs are not accepted,
sometimes old ones, sometimes they do work if i try them again.

It makes quite a loud spinning up noise that is not apparent when it does read,
it then displays all 0's for the time on the CD.

My unit has experienced exactly the same problem with CDs as described, but not with DVDs, since the day it joined my system 1-1/2 years ago. Sometimes it will play after a few tries, mostly not.

Had always thought it's an alignment problem, but someone told me it's a problem common to a number of high-end CD players and that it has something to do with the error correction feature (or absence of). Thing is the offending CD will invariably play easily in a cheaper player.

So, for the moment, I am just sitting tight.
