So i sold my 2 360's a couple months ago and bought a ps3 and have regretted it ever since, i've only bought 1 game, unreal tournament and have wasted almost $1500 on blu ray movies! wtf was i thinking?

What are used 40gig ps3's going for these days?

Wait, let me get this straight. You sold your 360 for a PS3, without apparently analyzing what games you would want on the PS3. What the PS3 did give you, though, was the ability to play Blu-Ray movies, which you have taken advantage of to the tune of $1500, yet you are not satisfied with your PS3?

More money than sense comes to mind...

the 360 was taking up too much of my time and wanted to get rid of all my distractions, the ps3 was just a movie machine to me and got watched by everyone in the house where as the xbox was not shared with anyone else lol -

things have calmed down and i have more time to relax - thats why i want a 360 back!

Sounds like the PS3 has done exactly what you wanted it to do!

In any case, when things get hectic again are you going to sell your 360 to get your "movie machine" back?

IMO you should just keep your PS3 and get a 360. Its worth owning both.

Keep the PS3. There are great games for it. Sell the Blu-rays and buy another 360. I've never understand the people that buy stacks and stacks of Blu-rays, most of which are B-list garbage. Who really watches all those movies? I've seen a lot of people's collections on AVS where they'll have 10 or 20 movies still in the shrink wrap from months ago. Why even buy them?!

i don't understand either, i have over 500 dvd's, 40 blu's, 40 hd dvd's. i recently signed up for netflix and wished i would have sooner! they ship movies so quick and everythings in stock! I'd go back if I could and not buy all those movies now. what a waste of money - i guess i just like looking at things ;/

40 Blu-rays cost you $1500?? That's $37 each! I'm assuming those are just the ones you want to sell? You could probably average $10 each on ebay. There's your 360 money. I'd probably put them all up for like $10-12 buy it now with $4 shipping. Get some cheap bubble envelopes, ship the lowest cost shipping at USPS and make as few trips there as possible.

I would just keep it all. People's minds change. A month from now, you'll be lamenting selling all your BD movies and that PS3...

yeah, I would just get another 360 and keep the other....otherwise you will likely find yourself in the same boat again a few months from now ;)

Well if he gets another 360 he's probably gonna be in the same boat again eventually with it taking it too much of his time. So just avoid it. I'd keep all the BR discs though. No real need to get rid of them.

Is that a bed I see? For the love of god, keep the AV gear in the living room. The bed is for "real" games ; ) Talked my wife into a 42" plasma for the bedroom, but no other AV gear shall enter!

Whats the point of this thread?

If you have $1500 to spend on BR discs.. I'm sure you can find the $279-349 it takes to buy a new Xbox 360.

There problem solved.

And the world didnt even have to know about it.

Cygnuss I couldnt agree more. Its almost like having a huge movie collection is some sort of bragging stick with which to beat others with.

Im not gonna lie.. I fell into the DVD trap at the start of the millenium. I would be at Best Buy, CC or wherever else faithfully on Tuesday to get brand new titles the day they were released.

As the years passed on.. I now have 300+ discs.. collecting dust.. clogging up my small living room. Most of the titles I've only watched once, will never watch again and I have my "10-20 that are still new in the shrink wrap". Its almost like I was buying them just to buy.

The last DVD I bought was Batman the Beginning in 2005 I think. Since then I have rented from Blockbuster online.. watch 4-5 NEW movies a week.. and dont have to deal with any additional clutter in my house. Anytime I want to watch a new movie.. I go to the store or online, rent it, and watch it in no time.

i don't understand either, i have over 500 dvd's, 40 blu's, 40 hd dvd's. i recently signed up for netflix and wished i would have sooner! they ship movies so quick and everythings in stock! Buying hordes of movies is probably the HT aspect I preach MOST against. Spend that $1500 on another great looking 720p 50" Plasma. You will get way more use outta that.. than you will collecting movie discs you only watch once.. IF ever..

I love having a copy of a movie.

As for feeling as though you "wqasted" money on the PS3 it's hard to say. I own a 360 and love it. I use it mainly to play games and bought an upconverting DVD player for movies. I'm still waiting for the cost of both players and BD movies to come down before I invest a penny in either.

If you sell 3/4 of your movies for about $15, you'll have enough for X360 Pro. Just do that.

"AVP 2pack 27.99" - LMAO. Reminds me of the South Park Walmart episode...

Cartman: Dude, check it out! "Time Cop" on DVD. Three copies for eighteen bucks!
Kyle: Why the hell would you want three copies of the same movie?
Cartman: Because one copy is nine ninety-eight! But this way you save like twenty bucks!
Kyle: You only need one copy, r-tard!
Cartman: Okay, fine, dumb ass, YOU go ahead and buy one copy for nine ninety-eight!
Kyle: Okay, fine, I will! (grabs a copy) Huh, wait a minute! I don't even want ONE copy of Time Cop! (puts it back)
Cartman: Dude, you can't shop for crap.

I own both the 360 and PS3, use PS3 for Blu-Rays (Besides the fact I bought GTAIV for PS3) and 360 for gaming. It's good to have choice. Ohh yea I also own the Wii too.

I have NEVER bought a DVD movie or blu ray. I have a dedicated theater, 115" screen, projector setup with axiom and hsu speakers....in other words a movie nut, and I have NEVER bought a movie. The only movie I have is on my mother gave me, and I never opened it as I already seen it.

I just don't get buying movies when you watch it once, rent it, and be done with it.

As for the console issue, get them all. Anyone that can afford that kind of money in dvd/blu ray collection can afford both if not all 3 consoles.

Do I get to tell you how to spend your money? I think it's crazy for a person to buy a sports car, but just because i don't like sports cars doesn't mean I expect no one to buy them.
Oh and I have more than 20 movies still wrapped. More like 80 to 90. But it was the same way with DVD for me. I had titles I bought in 1998 and 1999 still wrapped when I donated several hundred DVDs last year. Many times I won't unwrap the title until i'm ready to watch them. And if i never watch them, they won't be unwrapped. But having the title onhand means if I'm in the mood to watch it, i can watch it then. when if I had to wait for a rental, by the time i get the rental, I won't be in the mood to watch it. That's one of the reasons I like digital downloads. I can watch the title instantlywhen i'm in the mood to watch it.

I finally found 1 store that had an ELITE today! Circuit city, best buy, target, everyone was sold out of them except "wallyworld" lol, had 1 left! I didn't know elites were that popular right now - i've always seen them in stock when i wasn't looking for one. I miss my last elite, that thing was so quiet! havn't opened the box yet but tomorrow i'll be playin some gears again.

after reading your post i think im gonna stop opening up my amazon packages like its christmas everytime i get a shipment of movies, lol.

Comcast VOD is really improving and has great quality, and i've watched a couple xbox vod movies and was pretty impressed. It's so hard not opening those packages you know!
