If I was to call some of these places that ppl have posted here that sell prisims, what do I ask for? I see these companies make crystal trophies/awards so do I just ask for optical prisims?

If I want to see if I can get a local company to make/get me some what size/dimensions should I be asking for.

Thanks.

Cnd Joe.

If I were you, I would not bother. The "French" prisms from surplus shed are optically coated and perform quite well from my testing. For $130 delivered, it is hard to beat.

Some people have said that these may be too small depending on your throw distance or projector. Did you find them too small or see any potential problems for other users?

Thanks,
Gerry

Hi Person99,

I went to that web site ( www.surplusshed.com )
& could not find a "French Prism" listed.

Thanks,
John

but if I wanted to get the larger prisims, what or how do I get my local company to make them?

Just ask the company about their wedge trophies (size, clarity, etc) and ask if you can get a "blank" trophy. That's what I did way back when.

I've tested them down to a 1.45 throw and they worked--no vignetting etc.

Right now, the only issue I can find with them is there is some ghosting. A bit more than I see on Mark's, so it may be Mark's optical coating is better than what they are putting on these.
