I just found a GM 2213 popper and GM 2015 cart for free:eek: It has a 12oz kettle.

Everything seems to work, I had to replace one of the toggle switches. It needs a lot of cleaning, but for the price I couldn't pass it up :D

I am going to try and restore it as best I can. Is it worth the effort or should i just buy a small version?

Anyone have any idea what a new kettle for this thing would cost???

In response to your inquiry wondering if it is worth the effort, I do not know if you need a 106 pound, 1950 watt, 12 oz machine. Probably not. It runs $1300 new so I guess you would still come out ahead even if you spent $400-$500 restoring it. That may be the way to go unless it is total overkill for your application.

If it is overkill, you could still sell it as is for a few hundred or restore it and make $600-$700 profit on a sale and get a new machine with warranty. I assume you are mechanically inclined if you are an amateur HT builder as your sig notes..

It sometimes amazes me what you can find on Craig's List for free. That's a great deal if you can get it restored and working. Even if it is too large for your house, you could sell it down the road as the previous person mentioned. A new kettle for that machine will run you around $470.00, which is higher than I expected. GM should also have a spacer available for the cart so that the machine fits on the cart without the gap you have, currently.

WOW!

Heavy duty. I assume that needs a dedicated 20 amp line, or is it a 240 volt machine?

Either way, nice score.
Try some "Carbon Off" on it. You might be able to restore the kettle, unless it's burned out.

Just replaced the $4.00 switch and bam nice hot popcorn. Now all that is left is to clean and possibly paint. Everything works.

Oh, I work at a college and the school was going to throw it out and I saved it from death :)
