I have a Philips DVP3960 player connected via HDMI to an Envision L32W761 32" LCD TV. The player is set to 16:9 widescreen and 1080i. When the TV is in Normal mode, the subtitles look normal but the picture is surrounded by black bars and is slightly horizontally squashed. When I switch the TV to Wide mode, the picture looks about right but the subtitles are stretched and difficult to read. I've played with the settings but can't find a solution. Is there something I missed or is there a shortcoming with the player/display? Thanks
