When I decide to make my screen I'm thinking of a curved screen. Now reading alot of posts I have come across 3 possible options.

1)regular canvas/artist quality and paint it grey with either

a) house paint ie Benjamine/Behr
b)Screen paint from someone like Screen Goo.

2) buying a grey screen fabric from supplier.

My room has alot of light and I opted not for black out blinds :(. So I will pbly need a high gain surface. With Regular paint is there any gain at all? I know Behr has screen paint can it be tinted grey?

or.. Am I better off buying the right fabric from a supplier?

Yes...as I think unless you spray paint the surface, your not going to get as good a finish, and having had a painted screen, there is nothing more distracting than a brush or roller mark on screen...

I painted a 9 feet wooden board with home water paint. Got some help from a professional painter friend of mine and you would never guess that it is a board and that it is painted with matt brilliant white acrylic water paint. You can never see any defects on the screen from the roller or anything like it. Experiment and you will save yourself some cash my friend.
