View Full Version : Xbox Live 8015000a error. vtalon 05-16-08, 08:30 PM I am trying to redeem my GTAIV 1 month gold trial for the past few days and get the error, 8015000a. Has anyone else been getting this error recently? vtalon 05-17-08, 10:02 AM After not being able to get the gold trial membership to work I logged out an made a new account. After filling in all the new info and the the code I had been trying for the last week it worked this time. vtalon 05-21-08, 09:00 PM After my second post I realized that this was a mistake; know I have to switch between these two to play. The first account is 20% done w/ the game, the second account can access the online games. When I try to get online with my first account it says in Niko's cell phone "Your Gamer Profile does not have the correct permissions to access Xbox Live functionality." Is there a way to get my first account playable on line. Thanks munkyxtc 05-22-08, 08:05 AM After my second post I realized that this was a mistake; know I have to switch between these two to play. There are some reported issues with users attempting to use certain codes to update their account from silver to gold using trial memberships and it seems like you are in that boat. Technically your setup is now correct in stating that your profile does not have the proper permissions since it is not a subscriber to a XBL Gold. There is no way for your primary account to know the newly created account was just a test and therefore you cannot transfer membership to that account. Unfortunately you'll need to play online using the secondary account unless you have another code to try. sirjonsnow 05-22-08, 08:09 AM Yeah, it sucks, but you lost out on the free month if you want to keep your old profile and saved game. If you do want to keep your old one, just get a 13 month subscription card and try to forget about the lost free month. abuharabi 06-28-08, 09:01 PM Bumping this thread -- I've got the same problem. Tech support has no idea, I have no idea...Anyone know why the 8015000a is going on? I'm trying to (re)upgrade my account to gold with a prepaid card. RTRic 06-29-08, 02:25 AM My brother got that error and they had locked his account so he couldn't add points or extend his gold membership. Turned out he used his initials and not his full name on his account. They didn't seem to like that. I keep trying...From everything else I've read, it just works sometimes. RTRic 06-29-08, 09:18 PM Did he ever get his account to work? If so, how?
