I'm a complete newbie here, so if someone can help me, that would be great.

I have a samsung 720P PDP HDTV. After buying it and autoconfiguring it, I was able to pick up some HD channels even though I did not subscribe to any HD service(FOX - channel 69, CBS - 106, NBC - 84, ABC - 85, OETA, and some others).

A month or so later, all my HD channels are gone, except Fox, and OETA. I am not able to find CBS/NBC/ABC anymore.

Question: why did I get all these channels in the first place, and now it is gone? Is there a way to get them back, or should I just consider myself lucky to even have had them in the first place? Will buying an antenna help? Did the channels change?

I live in Oklahoma.

thanks

Check your HDTV and make sure you are still set up to receive digital and not just analog signals. To answer your question, your cable provider should allow for the local network HD channels in your area to be unscrambled which allows you to view it if your TV has a QAM tuner installed. Also, Try hooking the cable feed directly to the HDTV if it has a QAM tuner to see if you can get the channels. If you can, that eliminates the cable feed and you can focus on the STB next. You will have to be more specific about your TV (model number) and how you have it set up with cable if you still have issues.

It sounds like you are connected to cable by the channel numbers you listed. Cable companies will move the raw channels around as they make room for other channels. Either you cable company has done that and you need to rescan or they have encrypted them and they are not available in the clear anymore.
