I have in laws that are 6.5 miles from antenna towers in Shoreview MN and they want an indoor TV antenna. I am suggesting the Silver Sensor, unless anybody here knows of a better indoor TV antenna.

A $10 rabbit ear/loop com should work as well, but I prefer the Silver Sensor. Just don't get an amplified indoor antenna, the signals there are too strong. Jim1348 05-20-08, 06:41 PM Unfortunately, she did exactly what I told her NOT to do and bought an amplified antenna and "surprise" has problems, so it is going to be returned. Does anybody know what national chains carry the silver sensors? She said that she is having trouble finding it locally and does not want to buy it from an internet store. Falcon_77 05-20-08, 08:10 PM I thought Circuit City had the Silver Sensor, but it looks like they've given in to Terk: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Terk-Indoor-HDTV-Antenna-HDTVi-HDTVi/sem/rpsm/oid/91092/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do#prodspecs If you have a Fry's Electronics around, they usually have the Silver Sensor. Maybe you could buy one for her since she's scared of buying online. Right now at work, i'm playing with a Zenith DTV converter box and i'm pulling in a good signal on all the locals with regular old $4 rabbit ears - and i'm 25 miles from the tower. Amazing. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31NA6pZqgPL._SL500_AA280_.jpg Falcon_77 05-27-08, 03:41 PM Right now at work, i'm playing with a Zenith DTV converter box and i'm pulling in a good signal on all the locals with regular old $4 rabbit ears - and i'm 25 miles from the tower. Amazing. I'm trying to spread the word locally. Most people have no idea what they can get. They just assume they need cable or satellite. :( |
