I just picked one of these up on ebay for a little over $1700. A gimmick to be sure but I did have a use for it as a bedside TV in certain locations. Disappointing to read it seems to have more shortcomings than my eyes led me to believe having seen a display of prototype units late last year at a Sony product expo. I haven't calibrated mine yet since firing it up in the last couple of hours. I decided to see whether there were any professional reviews to try to pick up some quick settings tips off given the fairly comprehensive adjustments.

We have all read the reviews from the online places and even more traditional sources, but you, most of us would consider a average Joe and I would like a first look opinion from you, the guy that went out to just buy it for the house.
