Hi,
I just bought this used-less-than-one-year-old tv for $300. The chick that had it didnt have the receipt, and hitachi refused to honor the warranty based on the production date. They said they would deny it if i had it.
My problem is it has overscan and have displayed some ghosting. the ghosting somehow disappeared, but the image in the bottom right corner is not very bright as well. I play gta 4 and the overscan drives me nuts, because i can not see the ammo or the full missions names etc and the brightness thing makes me load the settings on brightness and color so i can have a somewhat enjoyable display on the corner , although it does look like to get brighter after a few or so. the overscan probs increase with the reso-- in 1080i the "loading..." message becomes "loading.." and in 720p it almost reaches the third dot.
i'm a total noob to tv repair, but ive read a lot --overscan, pots near the blue button, mid pot, geometry getting messed, not being able to do the auto-focus, cleaning the lens by the back, taking the screen off, etc.
So, I'm lost here. I do not know how to connect the dots... Does anyone have the service manual or have experienced similar probs and/or know how to fix it? I don't wanna spend 80 bux if i can do it myself because i have somewhat serious financial issues right now.
thanks for the help.
