I've tried the Phillips and now the new Sony 1080p player. Both puts out way too much video noise. I also have a ps3 and hd-a2 hd dvd player that doesn't put out any such artifacts. Problem is that ps3 is too loud for dvd playing and HD A2 doesn't handle dvd+r's well. Is there any player under 100dollar with a decent picture with out much video noise while up converting?? sony 700h is better than phillips but still too noisy, especially when there is solid colors on the screen. Drives me nuts. Is Oppo 980 much better?? I'm afraid to pick that up and be the same. They they have a good return policy?
