We seem to have the first screens for the next Prince Of Persia. I really want to see this in motion! :)

Is it cell-shaded? That doesn't look right to me.

I'm a longtime PoP fan (I even liked Warrior Within) but I'm not liking the cel-shaded look at all. For my money, the Sands of Time game had the best look (with its fairytale/dreamlike quality) and I would have much preferred something along those lines but brought in to the hi-def age. I also don't care for the ragged and tattered clothes.

Hopefully the gameplay will rescue it, but on looks alone, it's a big step backward for me.

Definatley has a different art style from the last games. I wonder what made them decide to go in this new art direction. Manyb the movie being worked on had something to do with it?

I love the style, as long as the prince is animated as well as he usually is(thousands of dedicated animations) then I think in motion this will look brilliant in high def. in response as to why go cel shaded. My guess is two things. 300 mixed teh comic world with teh anicent and it worked out and PoP has had a lot of enemies that look like they'd fit in 300. Plus this is a different team from POP they might be trying to but a new signature on teh series since the original storyline is complete.

I love the new art style. I will take this kind of animation over photo realistic any day. This is going to be so frickin cool.

If anyone's interested in this game, Game Informer has a preview of it in this month's mag. I haven't gotten to reading it yet but there's several screen shots in there.

Damn right it's not! :) It's a lot more timely, and with greater variety, on the series of tubes.

Tell me these are not ingame shots, and just renderings at this point!! POP is one of my alltime fav's and it is DEFINITELY NOT ANIME!!!! Wtf is wrong with ubisoft?
I will definitely buy but this does not make me hungry for the next installment in any way!!

According to the GI article that I just got around to reading, those are real screen shots. There's a very new art direction this time around. It's more "illustrated" as they put it.

The story is completely separate and new from the previous games. This game has a new prince and a new, more fantasy-based location. One other notable difference: You only fight one enemy at a time. It's sort of a fighting/platforming game from the sounds of it. A very weird decision in my opinion, but I guess we'll see.

Ya, bad move. Anyone moving away from AC is not thinking straight. AC is gorgeous.
I haven't played any POP game, but it doesn't take a genius to see that the AC engine is perfect for it.

- AC plays very similarly to the PoP series. It's just missing the wall runs and a few other moves that the PoP does. :)

Personally, I don't think that AC holds a candle to the PoP games. I like the new cel shaded look a lot.

I also read the GI article. Personally I like the new art look....it has more of a graphic novel feel to it....but I'm reserving final judgement until I see video of it in motion. Screen shots rarely do game graphics true justice.

calm down negative nancy...AC was nowhere near horrible - sure it was repetitive but the historical backdrop and art direction more than made up for that.

I don't know what I was thinking about when I typed that, I think I have been playing way too much GTAIV. I was thinking that Warrior Within was the most recent title instead of Two Thrones.

That probably isn't gameplay footage in that video. They don't look cell shaded in the video, plus it looks a little too cinematic to be gameplay footage. I hope I'm wrong cause I love this series. All the POP games were fun for me.
