I'm almost finished building a new home theater (18' wide X 25' Long with 8' ceilings). I currently have the Paradigm Studio 100 v.2 and Paradigm ADP for surrounds. I'm thinking about upgrading to the Def Tech 7000SC with built in powered subs and the matching center for my front stage.

I would like to go with the Paradigm Reference in-walls for side and rear surrounds for a nice clean look and to keep walk-ways clear.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how this match will blend together? I would think that I could get away with surrounds that don't match the front stage perfectly but I'm not certain.

if you are going to switch the fronts for def tech And switch out the rears, why not get def tech in-wall rears also?

Agreed. I have the 7001's. I like them a lot. Dt makes bi-polar and traditional in walls that would be a precise match.

It'll sound good, no doubt, but I'm curious as to why you want to do Paradigm in-walls, rather then the Def Techs, which obviously would match better.

SLCentral, I was thinking of going with the Paradigms because they seemed to be some of the best in-walls out there and they have been selling on Audiogon/Ebay for good prices. But after looking at the Def Tech site in more detail you are absolutely correct. I should pair the 7000SC's with either the UIW 75's or the UIW 65's which both have the same driver and tweeter as the 7000SC's and are actually cheaper than the paradigms.

For some reason I had thought that Def Tech only had bipolar in-walls and I want direct radiating since I will have two pair of side surrounds and one pair of rears.

Has anyone heard the Def Tech in-walls? Will I lose much by going with in-walls over wall mounted?
