Hi everyone,

I want to thank everyone here again for all the help. I feel bad because I have very little knowledge in the A/V arena so I can't ever offer much suggestions to people in other posts. However, I'm slowly learning from everyone here!

Fairly new to the HDTV scene. I've noticed that my television's video will "flicker". I can't quite describe it except that it looks like a hiccup while drawing the video.

It doesn't happen often; maybe once every 20 minutes or so.

I have a Panasonic TH-42PZ77U and an Onkyo TX-SR805 receiver. My XBox and Blu-Ray player both go to the receiver via HDMI. Then there is an HDMI connection from the receiver to the television. I purchased the HDMI cables from bluejeanscable.com.

The flicker will happen with both the blu-ray and the XBox, so I'm suspecting it's somewhere from the receiver to the television. I believe the cable length from the receiver to the television is 8 feet, but it could be 6 feet.

Is this a semi-common occurance where there's a usual suspect that's causing it?

Thanks!

The first thing I would do is try plugging the cable from the reciever into the other input ports on the tv to make sure that the hdmi port on the tv is not the issue. Next I would plug the components directly into the tv and see if the issue is being caused by the receiver. Once you have eliminated the possibility of the problem being the hdmi ports on the tv as well as the receiver, then try connecting the components with component cables and see if it's the cables causing the issue.

Good luck and hope this helps.

Perfect! Very methodical and it'll help me isolate everything. Thanks!
